Any opera fans here? See Below. Enjoy and please add to it. I love listening and discovering.

Add a favorite composer, singer, aria, opera here:
I have a background in Opera.
Although, I have studied them all, I would have to say Mozart is my favorite ( My ultimate favorite piece would have to be the Requiem Mass in D Minor in its entirety) and with Verdi at a close second. My favorite colluratura is Leontyne Price and Lucia Popp holds a close second. As for the men, Mario Lanza's voice makes me swoon and then there are everyone's favorite 3 Tenors. Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras. And close to my heart is Mario Lisanti although I can no longer find anything on YouTube about him I know he also coached Phoebe Snow. I have included some of my favorites here:

*Just a little fun fact about me*
( I absolutely insisted that Lucia Popp's version of the Laudate Dominum was played at my wedding as my bridal party came down the aisle in church. I entered with my father as the "Amen" solo began singing from behind the doors ) the church thought I was crazy. It was a favorite piece of mine and I dedicated it to the souls that could not be there with me that day . many of them who had gone down that aisle before me laid to rest. My now ex-husband ever the punk rocker and death metal god still harasses me about that to this day LOL.

Wouldn't call myself a fan, but I do occasionally watch opera -- or at least try to. Favorite is probably Wagner, unless you;re including light opera, then Gilbert and Sullivan.

@ChipmunkErnie I absolutely adore Gilbert and Sullivan I actually played patience. And yes, absolutely include every genre of Opera. Operettas and rock operas etc etc

@LaLumieri My favorite was RUDIGORE, the version featuring Vincent Price. It was part of a REALLY old VHS set of all the G&S operas.

@LaLumieri There was a 2-box set of the complete Gilbert and Sullivan I bought on VHS -- I think all original BBC productions. Years later the set was re-released on DVDs, but for some reason RUDIGORE was left out of the DVD set.
