I hadn't heard. I never got to meet him, but I've been admiring his talent since the 70's. Plus, he was one of the first and few of my "celebrity 'crushes'".

Sorry for your loss and he was a brilliant and gifted songwriter. I have a deep appreciation for the Highwaymen and you can see the gift of his writing within them.

I can remember my grandmother singing Help Me Make It Through the Night to me as a kid. She loved him.

I never got to meet Kris, but I did grow up with his son in elementary school.

He was such a talented writer, actor and scholar. I still love to play The Silver Tongued Devil and Me. RIP Kris
