He was supposedly in love with British singer Alma Cogan, who was 8 years older than him. She died suddenly in 1966 and suddenly Yoko was there. He was a very weak person. He needed a strong woman.
Yoko was there for the ride, it was a band that reached its creative peak, there’s really not a lot to fathom here. John had numerous problems and was difficult to work with.
@helenS I respectfully disagree. I feel that he still retained his musical talents, but he fell in love with Ms. Ono, and allowed her to change his musical tastes for the worse.
@CorvusBlackthorne I'd say that the last good Lennon song was probably "Strawberry Fields Forever". I'm referring to the music, not his pseudo-intellectual lyrics.
@Yourwildestdreams Yes of course, we stay in bed for a week to protest against the meat industry. Or traffic jams. Or bad weather... anyway we could stay in bed for a week.
