What are cover songs that completely change the original and are amazing ?

Johnny Cash's Hurt and Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower are sort of the gold standards of taking already great songs and making them better.

Theres a song from the Movie CarWash called." I wanna get next to you" by Rose Royce. I heard a version of it by a guy called Christion and it blew me away. If anyone likes Motown, R&B music please look it up on YOUTUBE. Or Google it and the video pops up.

"Sound of Silence" by Disturbed.

I was always impressed by Ray Stevens' version of "Young Love." Not the Air Supply song. I doubt anyone remembers this older song. This is the original from the 50's:
