Cut my teeth on the originals from the late 60s early 70s. Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, etc.

Metal bands existed in the 1960's. Original metalheads are probably pushing 50 or 60 or more easily.

Depends what you consider "old". I am in my 50's and I am an down n dirty, grim n grimy, gloom n doomy metalhead from back in the day...

I know one or two guys in their 60s who still like heavy metal. I don't like it myself, but whatever floats their boat I say.

I'm not even 40 yet and I only listen to metal.

Most heavy metal artists are way older than me . Like Bruce from Maiden.

I like everything. There is a time for each genre dependent upon my mood.

Depends on how you define "old". Some of the original metal bands have members you’d probably classify as "old men".
