Ooh man, almost too embarassed to say.. but Hanson. They still make great music and their stuff still peppers my spotify

This one makes me cry a bit if i have too much wine but most of their stuff is just fun to dance with.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@JamieDeer 'Mmm Bop' is great. Is this really one of them?
@Thodsis haha Mm bop is not great. I actually hate that song. It is.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@JamieDeer But the bop was produced by the Dust Brothers who also made Paul's Boutique by The Beastie Boys.

Which is the definition of 'cool by association'.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@Entwistle They are lovely. I don't think a band that were considered the alternative National Anthem of Australia are cringey at all.
@Entwistle Abba is a treasure.
CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
@Entwistle ABBA are...worthy of capital letters, sweetie!

The Bee Gees 😆

@SW-User Did you adopt the hair-dont's and the trousers?

If so, then award yourself two points.

@SW-User It has to be Grolsch and Doc Martens. Or you're just another fake fan... :)

Thodsis · 51-55, M
@SW-User Queen are never cringey. Despite John Deacon being the most boring man in pop.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@Justmeraeagain Abba never will be cringey. Even The Sex Pistols loved them...
I was a teen, but I liked The Electric Prunes’ song, “ I had too much to Dream”
Circa ‘67.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@soar2newhighs That's proper pre-punk music. Amazingly good.

Apart from the outfits.

Award yourself some cool points.
Penny · 46-50, F
no cringe. my music is cool lol
Penny · 46-50, F
@Slade i think he may have been before my time
Slade · 56-60, M
@Penny you're not a "Da Doo Run Run" fan?
Penny · 46-50, F
@Slade no lol

Gangster rap in middle school once the out cringe shell shatters some of those songs are still decent
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Probably some obscure Norwegian songs recorded somewhere in a pub I dragged from an obscure Norwegian site back in 2007/2008 and that only because they were in Norwegian and had what I imagined as local atmosphere.
Also all early crappy unprofessional recordings of any band I was obsessed with.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F

one of my favorite songs ... seriously 🤣
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@DeluxedEdition I'd not heard of this before. The song is surprisingly not shit.

The video is just any perfume advert ever.

Award yourself a non-cringe point.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
The Backstreet Boys lol.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@SatanBurger Award yourself a cringe point...
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Thodsis Backstreets back alright! Doo doo dooo
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@hunkalove He's pretty cool. So no cringe points awarded. :)

@Thodsis If you want to see something hilarious, check out "Bobby Vee Ruined My Life" on YouTube. I'm a big fan!
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@thodsis] 😄 nothing to be ashamed i will admit i liked shaking music in the early eighties reviving a bit of the old fifties songs
smiler2012 · 56-60
@LordShadowfire started in the seventies with a sort of fifties revival with darts and there doo wop songs with showaddywaddy and mud did some cover of buddy holly songs
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@smiler2012 I stand corrected.
smiler2012 · 56-60
@LordShadowfire 😆no need too be
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@PhluorescentLeech Agreed!

But they did promote 'sports wear' before it was cool.
CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
I believe there's video evidence of me in touch with my inner Posh Spice, back in the day....

Probably the first inkling of me and my gender identity.

Still enjoy The Spice Girls to this day....

☺️
ArishMell · 70-79, M
None, because I have no reason to be embarrassed by any music I liked in my past, nor for having liked it!

I might not like some of it very much now, but our tastes do change over the years.
PhluorescentLeech · 36-40, M
Bob Dylan was my first concert, but it was honestly a terrible show.
Slade · 56-60, M
@PhluorescentLeech He's always been hit or miss live. Songwriting he's in his own league
PhluorescentLeech · 36-40, M
@Slade warren Zevon was extremely under rated song writer
Slade · 56-60, M
@PhluorescentLeech Yes he was. But several of his phrases have lived on in perpetuity
According to my mom, I was obsessed with Brass Monkey by the Beastie Boys. I’m embarrassed due to my childhood ignorance lol
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@MorbidCynic I used to read the lyrics in the tape liner. Like, every word.
Theyitis · 36-40, M
When I was in middle school I thought that disco in general and the Beegees in particular were cool.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Louis Armstrong... I didn't know why the other kids didn't like his music.

Dolly Parton, still my guilty pleasure
CassandraSissy · 26-30, TVIP
@SW-User Nooooooooo! Dolly is NOT a guilty pleasure! She should be MANDATORY in all major countries!

just sayin' !

😘
SW-User
@CassandraSissy totally agree 🥰

I really loved the style of Bay City Rollers 🎶🎉🕺💃
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Elton John 💜 but I don't think he's cringey.
Folk music. It wasn’t considered "cool". I didn’t care then, and I couldn’t care less now. 😄
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard Are we talking nasal, real ale, organic trouser-wearing folk music. Or the good stuff?

Got any recommendations?
@Thodsis Early Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Cat Stevens, Joan Baez, Simon & Garfunkel, Odetta, Nick Drake…my circle at the time couldn’t appreciate them.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@bijouxbroussard Thanks for those. I know some but will try the others.
