People hate on Kanye a lot & he's a wild card for sure

But on this song I just hear a father venting about how it feels to lose his kids through a divorce.

I can't stop listening to it I wish it was longer

Just the simple "Daddy's not gone, you see the light on. Daddy's at home." Is some heartfelt shit fr 🥺
I wanna be a dad but I can't imagine not having my kids.

I would have empathy if I didnt see this as a way to continue to publicly abuse and shame his ex. I can't stand the Kardashians, and I never thought I'd have much empathy for them but what's happened to Kim has been outright scary.

One of the harder personal things I've had to admit to myself is that my life is better on meds. I'm lucky in that mine aside from permanently blurring my vision mine dont have bad side effects and the ones I'm on currently dont make me feel like 'not me'.

I can say my life has been permanently altered and parts of my personality shaped by the PTSD after someone who really should have been on meds that continuously hurt me for several years. It's taken a lot of work to get through that trauma. It's a boundary I will carry forward in my intrapersonal relationships. If someone I care for needs meds but are resistant in taking them, I may need and am emotionally prepared to step away from that person to protect myself.

@Starcrossed you're a stronger person for admitting that to yourself & finding peace with the life you live. I think most of the key to happiness isn't real happiness.. it's peace. There's a lot we have to sacrifice in order to get there & those sacrifices are different for all of us. I don't blame you at all for stepping out of anyone's life if you need to 🙏 I'd recommend anybody to do the same

@Starcrossed what happened to Kim?
Torsten · 36-40, M
after having my kid taken from me years back, I avoid listening to stuff like this. Knowing how painful that is, I try and avoid it.
I have no issue with Kanye. Not a fan of his music or his taste in women but whatever haha
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Torsten I'm sorry to hear about your friend as well. When I was younger I looked at suicide as a selfish thing too & couldn't understand it but I do now. I didn't have my mom growing up & she wasn't allowed to see us because of her choices. She tried to kill herself the day she was told she'd never see us again. She shot herself & she survived. But I'm part of her life now so I'm lucky. I wish your friends daughter got that chance as well. That stuff breaks my heart
Torsten · 36-40, M
@ChiefJustWalks damn I again am sorry to hear that. ITs tough losing your child but cant imagine how tough it is for the children also. Is your mom okay now? I am glad youre apart of her life now though
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Torsten well thanks for asking man. My mom's okay now I suppose. She's still dealing with a lot & lost most of her family for it but that's why I don't turn my back on her. I'm always there

I just watched a documentary on xxxTentacion and what a piece of shit
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
@ChiefJustWalks this is what he didnto his gf
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@MyNameIsHurl Oh I know 😬 I tend to look into way too much when it comes to music. He also beat the shit out of a gay dude in jail I wonder if they brought that up in the documentary 🤔
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
@ChiefJustWalks hes a piece of shit.

yep reminds me of Flashing Lights, if you listen to the lyrics and look at the video he ended up marrying that type of woman killing his career exactly in the way shown, musicians often speak it into existence just like x sang abt dying before it happened, crazy
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User Flashing Lights is one of my all time favorite Kanye songs along with Runaway. I think Runaway is my #1 because of how much it hit me. But interesting thing to point out. I actually just watched that video again weeks ago & barely noticed what he was really saying. It's deep. & I was a fan of X but I'm a fan of a lot of the rappers who all keep dying. There's one who got killed a few days ago who I listened to a lot too. Shits wild

@SW-User I actually have listened to the slowed version quite a bit 😅 I like songs like that so I look for them on purpose sometimes. Now I'm listening to it again now though so thanks 👌
But very true. It's the same as manifesting. You can manifest bad things a lot easier than the good things if you aren't careful. X's death was tough but expected. He was smart but he lived reckless & violent. He couldn't escape that
SW-User
Always sad when society thinks it is better for children to end up with one parent only.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User I grew up with one parent & honestly neither of them probably should've been allowed to have kids 😂 but it's a messed up world we live in
@SW-User Sometimes it has to be that way. It can’t possibly be healthy for a child to grow up with parents battling all the time, especially if there’s abuse and violence.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard I agree with those conditions, the action is needed.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
I’m not challenging your being moved, but Kanye is a pathological narcissist with a God complex.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@ChiefJustWalks Fair points. I hope he can leave his ex wife alone, for the sake of his kids.
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Fukfacewillie he has left her alone lately. But honestly I sorta wonder what that really was about. He was made to be a villain & he played the role well but I think he genuinely missed his family & didn't know how else to deal with it. He mentioned at one point "this is my first divorce I don't know how to handle this" & he's extremely bipolar so I imagine that doesn't help.
But also he's known for doing outlandish things & keeping his name in the media when he has a project out. He released an album & quite a few business ventures while dealing with the Kardashian drama so I could see it being for publicity as well. I don't act like I know but I wonder 🤔
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@ChiefJustWalks He definitely was hurting, understandably so. Hopefully, his acting out is behind him.
SW-User
Well he’s not barred from seeing them is he?
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@SW-User nah not at all. I think he just misses living under the same roof as them
SW-User
I really don’t like the man. Not sure how Kim dealt with him for so long. 🙁
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@bijouxbroussard I wonder the same thing 😂 but I also like Kim & I don't think I could get along with her in person as well so eh I don't hate lol
@ChiefJustWalks Kim’s spoken here, to young women. I’m not saying we’d be bffs, but she’s a lot more intelligent than people think (and her reality show would’ve indicated).
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@bijouxbroussard oh you'd be surprised how much I know about Kim 😂 I don't usually admit it but I started watching the show early & kinda just liked all of 'em since 🤷
Lilnonames · F
Yeah I don't like either of them I feel sorry for the kids. Kim and Kanye only are about the limelight no matter at what cost it has and the kids pay for it
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Lilnonames I don't agree with Kanye on a lot of things but one thing he makes sense on is when he said he doesn't think his kids should be placed in the limelight, used as internet personalities, living the life the Kardashians grew up thrown into. He just wants them to be kids. That's a lot of what this song is about too actually.
Lilnonames · F
@ChiefJustWalks but Kim will die if a camera is not on her. I'll have to listen to the song
