Dorothy's ruby slippers have sold

Some people have too much money.

What I find interesting about this whole story is that more than one pair were used in the filming of the movie. So, during that period when the stolen slippers were missing, you could still go to the Judy Garland museum here in Minnesota and see a pair on display.

And the guy who stole them? He did it because he thought they were really made of rubies!

I thought they'd fit a little better given how much I paid for them

The iconic ruby slippers were VERY desirable...to all those with shoe fetishes...and to people who wanted to dress up like Dorothy and wear the ruby slippers...🤣🤣🤣

No real big surprise, with the rich folk having more and more to waste every year it does not surprise me in the least.

Have they really? Damn it, no body tells me anything these day. If I'd known I might have put in a bid.

It makes you wonder what the other 4 or 5 remaining pairs worn in the movie are worth.

I wonder how many pairs of ruby slippers that Judy Garland never wore,have been marketed over the years as the originals? "The Wizard of Oz" was not a great box-office success for MGM when it was first released back in 1939,but its popularity has certainly grown down through the years - though $28 million for an item from any movie is at the very least,ridiculous.
