When the book came out, I thought "This would make a great movie."
A few years later, the movie came out.
From what I remember from the book, the theory is there is a relationship between birds and dinosaurs. I think the theory is that dinosaurs evolved into birds. I don't remember the ending of the book or movie.

@ProfessorPlum77 No,some species of dinosaurs evolved into a new class of animal,while the others went extinct.Its an error to suggest simply that on the day dinosaurs went extinct,some grew feathers.Birds have existed for at least 100 million years.

@wonkywinky I wasn't suggesting anything. I was commenting on what the author of "Jurassic Park" suggested.
Those are cranes. Why are they shown? I dunno. Adding a depth of tranquility, I guess.

@Amyrakunejo Brown Pelicans-Pelicanus occidentalis.

@Amyrakunejo Not that close.Pelicans are more related to herons,cranes are more related to bustards and coots.

They're Pellicans, the closest relative to the Paleo world.
@Iwillwait Interesting, thatnks
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
I would say Brown Pelicans.

Maybe it has something to do with the mindset that "birds are living dinosaurs." Maybe the movie character is smiling because he believes that the dinosaurs later evolved into harmless (in most cases) birds.
