what is your favourite horror film of the 80s

i liked all the slasher ones to be honest, like - happy birthday to me, the first original friday the 13th film......hell high, final exam, many of the b films were good too.

Dark Night of the Scarecrow for slasher
Poltergeist for the only movie to actually scare me, (I was little, gimme a break)
and Watcher in The Woods for being surprisingly spooky

The original A Nightmare On Elm Street was a masterpiece. The acting was terrible but the suspense and the effects still hold up today.

@Jacko1971 My favorite iteration in the NOES universe was an unofficial youtube short called "The confession of Fred Krueger". I would like to see the guy playing Freddy in an actual Nightmare movie...
