The Shining for pure creepiness
Dark Night of the Scarecrow for slasher
Poltergeist for the only movie to actually scare me, (I was little, gimme a break)
and Watcher in The Woods for being surprisingly spooky

The original A Nightmare On Elm Street was a masterpiece. The acting was terrible but the suspense and the effects still hold up today.

@SarahAndSamantha the third film was ok but the rest were awful. The new one isn't bad. It's certainly worth a look.

@SarahAndSamantha it's a great film. I haven't got round to watching the Chloe Grace Moretz version.

@Jacko1971 It had its' merits. I'm heavily biased towards Sissy, though, so was disappointed. Worth a watch though.
