Can’t single out just one. But when I was 13, I saw Seven Samurai on PBS and that showed me why the director was the most important person for a film. Put the whammy on me.

I enjoy the period dramas and films. Pride and prejudice, Jane Eyre, Persuasion, Wives and Daughters. Downtown Abbey. So many to list.

Primer directed by shane carruth. Because I can zone out and listen to it while doing other things and I really love that movie. Great story I wish was longer.

Probably The Graduate. It’s the perfect mix of funny and serious. Great acting. Visually perfect. A brilliant original soundtrack. And one of the all time greatest endings as their silly smiles fade to serious expressions.

1935 Bride of Frankenstein.
Boris Karloff's portrayal, as a creature, abandoned by his creator, and rejected by society at every turn, seeking what we all want: acceptance, to love and be loved....resonates to this day.
