@Mamapolo2016 Agree with Rickles
@OlderSometimesWiser

YES to all of those... I never understood why Winters was thought of as a comedy God.

For those who remember - - some more unfunny people:

Joan Rivers
Alan King
Uncle Miltie Berle
Martha Raye
Jack E. Leonard (insult comedian before Rickles)
BluntSm0ker · 100+, M
Eddie Murphy....and every Brit comedian in existence.

@Mindful
I think he is the Father of the Character I was referring to earlier.
Nervous insecure fumbling guy but at the same time cute and lovable.
Like that other British guy. I'm like .. wtf.. is this what women like??
@SleepingWithGhosts lol I didn't even know he was a comedian, I thought he was just insufferable

On his own show he acts the straight man... and he's good at that.

@rinkydinkydoink you need to bang your head on the wall. Beat some sense into yourself
@Baremine

YOU should be a comedian... 😁

Don Rickles was a bit much for me, but when cornered by Johnny Carson the chemistry was intoxicating, mostly due to Johnny and Ed.
I kind of liked them when I was a kid, and Lou Costello always made me laugh. I think their best, and most well known skit, was, "Who's On First." That was very clever.

@PhoenixPhail

The straight man used to get the heftier salary - and that included the 100% unfunny Abbott.

Wow, really, never?
@samueltyler2

I don't understand to whom or what your comment is directed.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
The Three Stooges were never funny when I saw them on the telly as a child.

But Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson did pretty much the same act and it was hilarious a few decades later...
@Thodsis

I always felt sorry for Larry.
Thodsis · 51-55, M
@rinkydinkydoink After a couple of minutes of watching them on YT I'd like to revise my childhood evaluation.
@Thodsis

They were veterans through and through - knowing what worked and what didn't. But they did get too old once they hit their 60s, dontcha think? This is why I never saw any of their dismal movies after the first one.
Jim Carrey, Rob Schneider, Chris Farley were just never funny to me. I did like Carrey in serious roles, though.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Kevin Hart.
That guy ain't funny. 😂
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@rinkydinkydoink You should watch his new Roast Comedy Special.
It was quite controversial.🙂
@Zonuss

Apparently I have this - I typed in Roast and got that first (because of the release date). Then came Roast Battle Canada (which has to be the friggin' pits) then Jeff Ross' Historical Roasts and a few more.

@whowasthatmaskedman Same, here.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Ho boy. Boo to you.

If you want not funny look no further then Fibber McGee and Molly.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
I think most stand-ups never quite know when to stop.
Whatever your schtick is there comes a point where it's so predictable it ceases to be funny anymore.
@Picklebobble2

You just described Dice Clay perfectly.
Selah ·
A lot of them suck bc they choose to pander to the lowest common denominator.
@Selah Agreed. Sadly a lot of audiences ARE the lowest common denominator.😷
