@HikingMan supposedly, Pryor was supposed to play the Sheriff in Blazing Saddles too, but he was highly unreliable for that particular shoot, I guess.

Edit: ..and Wilder wasn't in Bustin' Loose. That was a solo Pryor movie ..the one where he drives the orphan kids in the bus. ..gets the Klan to fix the bus and get them on their way ..

@rinkydinkydoink Gable's turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism noticeably escalated after the tragic death of his third wife, Carole Lombard, in a 1942 plane crash. Tragic. I wonder how it would have been if Lombard survived. They were so suited to each other.
