I think some of the most brilliant bits on SNL were the times Bill Murray portrayed a lounge singer , singing to people at a resort who were disgruntled from being stuck inside on a rainy day.
He nailed it. I've witnessed those singers at some events I went to in New York: a mediocre performer who presumes he is really captivating everyone in the room.
As I watched Murray perform, I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat, in awe of how spot-on he was! In fact, I had the kind of reaction that professional comedians have to comedy: I did not laugh, but instead I just stared at the screen and thought, "This.....is.....funny!"

Scared Straight. Keenan Thompson is of course an ex convict who comes to the police station to tell personal stories to troubled teens to try to scare them into following the law, but instead of actually telling personal stories he always gives the plot of a popular movie. One time he was caught giving the plot of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and he came back with this Oompa Loompa song:
Oompa Loompa Doopity Doo
Ten Jamaicans are coming for you
They’ll lay you down on a table flat
What does your rear end think of that?
It don’t like the looks of it.

@JPWhoo 😳
Let me get in my time machine and think on it a bit...
Chevy chase , Dan Ackroyd, Lorraine Newman, Jane Curtain, John Belushi, Garrett Morris, Gilda Radner, and Bill Murray.....they were the only funny incidences on SNL
