Trump the total fuckwit is now putting a 100 pct tariff on all movies not produced in the USA

He thinks it's a 'national security threat' and 'propagandist' to have movies made by US studios outside the USA. What a tosser.

Hardly any non-US movies would get shown in the USA but here almost all movies are from US studios. Time to boycott all movies made by US studios?

serious question: how to apply this tariff and where does the 100% tariff apply and not apply? where is this tariff collected: on the movie ticket purchase, or on the streaming subscription, or the blueray dvd,... ? what defines the nominal origin value of a movie?

It’s applied prior to any product entering the US and paid by the seller. To the extent the foreign seller chooses to jack up the price of an item, the US consumer the US citizen has her, his or its choice to buy another product. The net result is that should foreign product sellers wish to access the US consumer market they must have fair reciprocal trade tariffs and processes. @tenente
