Do you have a favorite Joe Pesci movie where he isn't losing his temper?

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Where’s the fun in that?
@cherokeepatti

First time I saw him was in Raging Bull... who IS this guy, I thought. He was built for intensity and explosive anger parts.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@rinkydinkydoink and that voice when he gets angry 🤣
@cherokeepatti

It hits a different register! 🤣
@OlderSometimesWiser

How many iconic scenes has this man been a part of?
@rinkydinkydoink Some stars actually deserve the title. Joe’s definitely one of them, entertaining countless people over so many years.

Moonwalker… no I’m kidding

I like my cousin Vinny and 8 heads in a duffel bag.
@Bignakedguy

... quickly googling 8 heads in a duffel bag...

EDIT - Gotta watch this!
@Bignakedguy

Downloaded "8 Heads" - got through quite a bit of it but Dyan Cannon's histrionics dampened my enthusiasm.

My cousin vinny
@royalblue1193

I saw it once but are you sure he didn't lose it in court just a lil bit? I forget to tell you the truth.
royalblue1193 · 31-35, M
@rinkydinkydoink But that was pretty calm compared to his other ourbursts
@royalblue1193

He was in one of the better Tales From the Crypt episodes, too... the one where he meets two gorgeous twins.

My cousin Vinnie

Pesci can do it all :D
@rinkydinkydoink

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

Most memorable exchange in the movie - who hasn't heard (and remembered) that?!
Mikla · 61-69, F
"Goodfellas". He was amazing in that movie
@Mikla

Gibbon · 70-79, M
Leo Getz in the Lethal Weapon series.
@Gibbon

I'm ashamed to admit I've not seen any of those. I'm sure, though, he stole a few scenes.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@rinkydinkydoink You have to watch at least the first one. The interaction between Mel Gibson and Danny Glover hilarious. Pesci is a hyperactive nerd constantly annoying the guys wanting to help with investigation. His character is quite funny and different than his usual.

@Thrust

Right! And even if he did lose his temper it had to have been funny... great little movie :)
Thrust · 56-60, M
@rinkydinkydoink

I like when they are smoking pot and Dangerfield asks Pesci if it's good stuff. He replied "of course it's good stuff, I got it from a cop"
@Thrust

You've a great memory - - I only recall Rodney's line about a mess-er-schmidt in the kitchen 🤣

A Bronx Tale
@Dino11

Wow. I watched that movie and it impressed me very much. I do not remember Pesci in it at all - I'm guessing he didn't lose his temper like you suggest.
Dino11 · M
@rinkydinkydoink He was the old Mobster
@Dino11

There were many standout performances with the boy/girl attraction being the focus (imo) so I may have to watch it again for the Pesci appearance(s).

Googling "When does Pesci appear in Bronx Tale?" yielded this - -

At the end of A Bronx Tale (1993), Joe Pesci makes a cameo appearance at...

Sonny's funeral

...introducing himself to Calogero as Carmine and asking if he remembered him.

EDIT #2

I fast-forwarded to the end to see this - - his character spoke softly and assuredly. He was the capo di tutti capi?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
...is there one?
@Starcrossed

That's basically my exact question 🤣

I never saw Home Alone - but he did play a bad guy didn't he? A thief?
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
@rinkydinkydoink that would be correct
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No, not a big fan.
@ChipmunkErnie

I looked into his show biz career in the last day or so since this post was up... earlier in his career he was a musician. He once played with Joey Dee and the Starliters (of Peppermint Twist fame).
