Things really changed Nov 22, 1963. Then The Beatles a short while later - on The Ed Sullivan Show - changed things even further.

@rinkydinkydoink They started changing before that with the Civil Rights Movement, anti-discrimination protests, and the Black Friday in 1960 when the protesters at the House Un-American Activities Committee were washed down the rotunda stairs at San Francisco City Hall and the resulting trial that exposed the FBI's use of provocateur agents. The latter event is considered the beginning of the 60's, and Bob Meisenbach who was tried and acquitted is considered by many the Father of the 60's. Bob, incidentally, gave the nominating speech for me when I ran for high school student body president.

Can't disagree with your points.

Peggy Sue Got Married--probably coming of a different age than what you intended
@Poppies

Not at all! Probably Kathleen Turner's best film, too :D

My mother had a Triumph Herald - which one of my sisters wrote off on her 17th birthday. She'd been round a car park once or twice underage and believed she could drive....
@ArtieKat

They were a cute little car. My first car was a beat-up Nash Metropolitan (cost - $75 LOL). An American car with an Austin 4 cylinder engine. Something like this -

@rinkydinkydoink Funnily enough my mother's Herald was two-tone, in similar colours to your pic!

A belligerent bookworm!

The whole picture was one giant improve acting class. Imagine some of the better-known greats playing the parts

For one, Bender - Maybe a very young James Caan (as a toned-down Sonny Corleone)
@rinkydinkydoink All parts were perfectly cast by some of the best actors and actresses of our times, my favorite out of all five is Allison, the basket case, I have always loved Ally Sheedy.
