Can you name an actor or actress who really impressed you with their performance

I'm not sure of the spelling, it was the alcoholic mother who's son was killed for a medal he won at the school spelling Bee. Can you guess?
I was impressed with Robin Williams from Moscow On The Hudson on, pretty much. I loved him in Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King, Awakenings, What Dreams May Come, and Good Will Hunting. Robin Williams also appeared on an episode of the police drama "Homicide: Life on the Street" that was absolutely incredible…

(edit) Incidentally, the boy who plays Williams’ son is a very young Jake Gyllenhaal.
@bijouxbroussard you know how much I loved his work. 🖤🖤🖤

I dont know actors' names at all. Luckily u remember this one: Al Pacino in Godfather 1 and 2. Also... the guy in Inception who's father is dying and owns the large corporation.

I wholly agree. I never really enjoyed his comedic take but his serious roles in movies, a lot of drama movies made me completely respect him as a proficient and talented actor.
Anthony Hopkins, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, John Malkovich all have done great performances in several different movies.
