Angels are scarier than silence, but the creepiest thing in Doctor Who for me was the kid asking "Are you my Mummy?". I mean, sure happy ending but that shit was creepy.

@SarahAndSamantha I think the reason it was creepier was not knowing what it was or what it wanted. It was the Angels I knew right away, That is you my mummy thing was so calm, and yet I had no idea what it wanted, or why it was asking what it was doing it was some of the best intensity scares since Hitchcock.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@Thespis That was a great one, how can you forget that?
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Angels all the way. Blink is such a tense episode.
@thepeculiarpanda agreed.

The Weeping Angels!
But come on you think an angel the size of the Statue of Liberty wouldn't be looked at by somebody among the millions in the NY metro area?

@OverTheHill that always bugged me lol. Was a great visual though
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
@SarahAndSamantha Yeah it was. I miss Amy and Rory.
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@OverTheHill i'm currently rewatching their run. Love 'em both.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
Ugh I hate that hahhaha
I started not appreciating angel sculptures because of that.

@SarahAndSamantha I love her too...not to death, but yeah haha :)
I love the last centurion who guarded her too.

@Casheyane Especially in the beginning of A Good Man Goes To War..
@SarahAndSamantha best assistant ever.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Weeping Angels were scarier. But the Silence being able to erase your memories is pretty terrifying.
@DearAmbellina2113 The silence’s concept was scary but the angels just felt scarier to me.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Don't Blink for SURE. That gave me nightmares when I watched that episode.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F

LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Starcrossed NOOOOOO! Why did you do that? A picture of an Angel becomes an Angel! Now I have to keep this page open for the rest of my life!
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
The Weeping Angels scare me so much! The Silence you at least forget about. 😄
NerdyPotato · M
The angels for sure. They are fast, unpredictable and deadly. With the silence you just forget they are there and live on happily in ignorance.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
The Angels, by far.
They learnt their stalking from me and then went and perfected it:)

I really need to try getting into Dr. Who. Looks fun.

@JustGoneNow maybe one day I'll finally get the appeal. 😁
@SW-User you either like the campiness or you don’t. cause it’s total campiness.

SW-User
@JustGoneNow I can be okay with that sometimes

Oh angels for sure!
I think they'll go down in tv history as one of the nest deveolped ideas for horror.
Such a simple idea, yet so incredibly psychologically terrifying.

@OogieBoogie i think the best thing about them for me was the 'anything that holds the image of an angel, becomes an angel.' logically, we know it's just a scifi show with a madman in a box...BUT...our tv screens are holding the image of an angel...
OogieBoogie · F
@SarahAndSamantha exactly.
The lore that came with them kinda broke the third wall so to speak.
So even the viewer technically got drawn into it.
They gave me, (a grown adult who could rationalise), the flipping heebie jeebies.😂
Just Brilliant.

The angels.

The medusa one
robingoodfellow · M
Not sure. Both are brilliant ideas. But theoretically I think the Silence would be more difficult to escape from.
@robingoodfellow yeah but once you quit looking, do you really care?
JohnRing · 56-60, M
I only watch the first run of episodes. I never thought of it as a scary show.

Angels
Of the two listed… angels. The Asorbathon was freaky fucked up thoroughly disgusting monster, though.
@SarahAndSamantha if I’m truly going for spooky. Blink was tense (angels) but The Empty Child and Midnight were even more so.
@SarahAndSamantha The Empty Child was easily the scariest episode for me.

@JustGoneNow can't deny it. When Doctor Who wanted to be creepy, it knew what it was doing
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
The angels, but only by a slight margin. The Silence were hoist by their own petard.
