The Flash, Barry Allen has a girlfriend named Iris.
Superman, Clark Kent has Lois Lane.
Green Lantern, Hal Gorden had a girlfriend in the first movie.
Batman, Bruce Wyne had a girlfriend in the first movie.
Spiderman, Peter Parker has Mary Jane Watson.
So it has already been done.

I think it will work.

One way is the partner already knows and The bad guy kidnapped one and the Hero has to free them and save the world.

Another is the other does not know and is always going on about how great this Superhero is and who it really is.

Sure, why not? But the love interest would probably get killed off in the second movie a la Rachel in Christopher Nolan’s Batman series, or Teri Bauer getting killed off at the end of season one of 24.
