Thoughts on 🇵🇸🇮🇱

If terrorists break into a school would you just bomb the whole building or find other ways to kill the terrorists without kids dying?
Richard65 · M
It's a dilemma. The IDF targets hospitals in Gaza because it says Hamas hides beneath them, using Palestinians as human shields. But still the IDF target them. If Hamas were hiding amongst Jewish citizens and using Jews as human shields, it's clear the IDF wouldn't bomb them as they wouldn't risk Jewish people as collateral damage. Therefore, the IDF view Palestinians as lesser people, and are willing to kill them in order to target Hamas. I'm not saying they don't have a right to defend themselves, but it's clear by their actions that they don't value innocent lives equally. This is a particular moral problem for Jews, as they have a history of being regarded as lesser humans beings.
@Northwest You call me insecure yet you are the one who has to keep going around declaring how much smarter you are then everyone else.

And again you have to stroke your own ego. You might speak a few languages and are a fucking tourist but you are no expert on anything.

You are like Mark Paul who claims to have 15 degrees and a few doctorates by their 20s.

I'm certainly not saying I'm smarter than everyone else. I'm saying you're a fucking moron. There's clearly a differenece.

You made a statement. I agreed with it, and explained you how it's done. It's really that simple, but you walked right into it. Your clue should have been the conversations I was having in French, with some Islamophobes. What's the matter? You couldn't follow the conversations?

And if you did bomb the School, the Church or the Hospital it would be good to be able to prove you killed at least one terrorist.

Its awful and gone on far too long. Disgusting that Palestine are been demonised while israel are seen as the victims

You're trying to use logic, when this is about revenge. We did the same thing after we were targeted on 9/11.

I am disappointed in us, as in the USA, for not advocating a plan to get rid of Hamas, while trying to contain "anger" and "revenge". It is our responsibility to the Israeli people, and to the world.

10 years from now, no one is going to remember the context, and a dead child becomes a recruiting symbol for future jihadists.

In amongst all the fuzz of opposing arguments themselves blurred by centuries of conflict, together with my own uncertainty about the impartiality of the information being shared by the media in my home country, that's easily without question, the clearest analogy I've encountered to describe the horror of the current situation.
Yeah I am sure these same people screaming "but human shields!" would be totally cool with the USAF using a Reaper drone with a Hellfire missile if someone took hostages at their kid's school. *sarcasm*

I guess it is okay as a tactic when someone else's kids get blown up.

If it was in Russia, they would just kill e everyone.
@LeopoldBloom Genocide has a definition and it is not dictated by your feelings. And again you have to be deliberately dishonest and site the group from 40 years ago to even make your double standard work.

1200 and feelings is genocide to you but 14k dead and 20k under rubble with no way to get them out is just meaningless numbers.

And I see you still have to lie about me and my positions to pretend it is I and not you who has different moral standards based on your feelings.

I am not and never have been a supporter of Putin but you have been ignoring that for over a year now and lying about me so I don't see why I bother correcting the record when you clearly have no interest in honest discourse.
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Genocide isn't based on your feelings either. Misusing the word for its emotional effect is no different from anti-abortion fanatics calling abortion "baby murder."

The silence of the so-called left in the face of other genocides while focusing on one that isn't even happening in Gaza is telling. By your standard, Putin's war in Ukraine is a genocide, as Russian officials have proposed removing Ukrainian children from their parents to be raised in Russia, to obliterate Ukrainian culture and society.

I’m not up to speed.
I still got a Ukraine flag up in my bios…😒

This is a thought that is easy to resolve.

Obviously I would find a way to protect the kids because they're still alive and well, right?

The only time anyone would bomb the whole school is when they want the children dead. At that point, the one bombing the school joins the terrorists but what's worse is they're a massacrer of children
Nobody would, unless the kids are Arabs, I guess.

I can understand that Israel has the right to defend itself.

I can understand that Hamas is beyond peaceful resolution because the destruction of Israel is part of their doctrine.

The whole "no matter what the cost" logic baffles me though. The cost is the whole point. If you are actually fighting evil, the point is to defeat the evil not to try to be even more evil yourself. If it was so outrageous to have 1500 citizens killed by terrorism, why is it OK to turn around and kill 10000 civilians in retribution? That only empowers the terrorists recruitment efforts.
Puppycat23 · F
If terrorists were to break into a school and hold hostages, neutralizing those terrorist would involve police and possibly other agencies doing their part.

If you're Israel, you simply level the building, deny all knowledge, and then admit it later.
Gloomy · F
@SW-User or just claim that the terrorists are hiding underneath and use it as a justification for killing innocent people
