@hunkalove the only thing Bush 43 did wrong was limit the rules of engagement. Which basically allowed the taliban to wait in the wings for us to withdraw. Once it was announced they put battle plans into action.

Maybe the West should start thinking that the Taliban may have taken Kabul so fast because they have a wide support among the local population. Western constructs like democracy, women's rights, human rightd, may not be appreciated everywhere.
@Harmonium1923 Oh no, it was not present to this extent. If Islam was present, women were not allowed to go out without hijab. That is against Islamic beliefs.
This a sad end for every Gold Star Family from this war. To see their sacrifices more or less wiped away in a week due to the incompetence of the current administration is gut wrenching.

Do we care enough about this cause to commit a material number of troops to serious combat? We’ve been there twenty years under four presidents, two from each party, and no one seems willing to commit. So it’s time to get out. You blame Biden, fine. But Trump desperately wanted out. That’s we he made the deal over the objections of the Pentagon. This issue transcends party lines.

Don't be so hard on them. Q, and Tucker did not inform them of the agreement signed by the Trump administration in February 2020, which resulted in the release of 5,000 Taliban prisoners. Tucker was concerned about the release of 5 Taliban from Gitmo in 2014.
