Do you mean EMDR? Have you asked for a second opinion?
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 yes I do, sorry.
I haven't but I don't want to go through the whole trust building again. I can't start from scratch again. I've worked so hard to get here and the day it was supposed to happen it all fell apart

@EldritchFox I'm not a psychologist but I can't see why you wouldn't be able to have it. Did they say why?
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 Because of chest palpations. But those are from anxiety. And the EMDR is to treat the anxiety/trauma. EMDR would help the chest palpations. But my primary and my therapist say no. I have no say.
I know it would help. I need to reprocess and move on. But they said no.

@EldritchFox I'm sorry. There will be a sensible reason for it though, especially if your GP says no too.

@EldritchFox Finding a good Dr of any stripe is a hit-and-miss pain.
Hang in there and find a good one for you!

@PatientlyWaiting25 I don't agree. I think they're trying to cya because that's the world we live in.
Telling me I can't treat the cause because of the symptom is idiotic.

@PatientlyWaiting25 it's like saying you can't have cough medicine because you have a cough

@EldritchFox I don't understand enough but I can see it's disappointing. I think maybe ask why it's not good with anxiety related palpitations and find out what your next steps might be.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@PatientlyWaiting25 my primary's clearance is not required, so I can find someone else willing to do it hopefully. Or maybe I can try to do it alone. It just takes time. There are steps and I would have to start all over again.
It is not just disappointing. We've spent since October last year building up to this and the day/session we are to start she backs out. That really hurt.
Needing my primary's consent should not have come up on the day we were to start the treatment.
I was confident.
Now I'm just crushed and still not getting the help I need or worked for.

@EldritchFox yes it really does seem like you've been let down.
