When posts get closed by admin

I am on another site and a guy posted about his dire situation -hence his moniker - Outofoptions.
His desperation was very evident as he was about to become homeless et al.
After interacting with several members, all of whom presented options - including myself, the guy was too distraught and too far gone to accept any of the advice, as is often viewed here.

Anyway, because he was so negative, poo pooing everything, the admin of the site came on board with...

I feel it's time to close this thread. OP, you've gotten some sage advice from members, yet you refuse to heed that advice. No one here can make decisions for you. This forum cannot serve as a substitute for professional counseling. Please seek help from any of the sources recommended by posters.

So his outlet was taken away, he must feel even worse now.

I am not hung up on it, just rather cruel to close the post after 3 days and 72 posts.

I dunno. That's rather an exceptionally personal interception by admnistration .

When someone asks for advice, but closes everybody down in denial ....what is the point of continuing ?

Sometimes hard love is a real thing .

People can get addicted to their victimhood - it happens here: same people postinf the same 'woe is me posts', on the same thing .....after 5 fricken years!
Still seeking sympathy for something they haven't moved on from ONE inch.

Is it bad , or is it stopping somone from wallowing in their own dispair and refusing to see their options ?

@OogieBoogie I understand fully.
It did seem that no matter the great advice/ideas, he was going to shoot them down, and did.
@Gusman i think the message from the admin was personal and thoughtful .
They coulda just blindly closed it with no explanation .
