I know how you feel. There is nothing worse then not being able to control your emotions and it's even worse when the people you love/love you don't understand what you are going through. I've been there...hell I'm still there. Don't give up hope sweetie. I know that's easier said then done. <3

I thought people would like an update. Went to my doctor. They say the mood swings are depression based theres nothing that makes them think otherwise. They put me on serquel to try and help the mood swings and curb the insomnia. She wants me back in two weeks and we will go from there. Im nervouse though my roommate was given this accidently and she turned into a very scary person and im on a higher dose

That's what happened to me with Seroquel; I was a very scary person too.

The medication wasnt even ment for my depression it was just suppose to a positive side effect. They gave me whats called amitryptaline as a sleep aid. They started it low. It didnt help so they upped it. When they upped it i still wasnt sleeping but my doctor told me they couldnt give me anything else untill i saw the sleep specialist just because everything either made me sick or didnt work. So i kept taking it but now my moods are out of control.

Antidepressants make bipolar cycling worse, including making the depression worse.

I mean ive had emotions like this before but there were always reasons for them. I cant help but think that its related to whats causing my insomnia and the meds are amplfying it.

@crossproduct: Yeah, my father was similar. It's like schizophrenia in that it doesn't have a reliable starting age, but it generally doesn't intensify until after neurological development has finished, which is around 25. I've had some suspicious behaviors of my own but they didn't start until around 20 and I'm still not entirely certain it's not just depression. Have spoken to psychiatrists and psychologists and such, it's a hard diagnosis to get nailed down.

@UndeadPrivateer: It is hard to nail down. I didn't get the right diagnosis until I was 35.

I hope you are able to get the proper help. Depression is bad enough. I can't imagine how scared you must feel right now.
