The love you feel can both be a weight and something that drives you forward at the same time. The depression wants you to just stop for a while and the love says you can't so you feel that burden of responsibility when you want to give in and it's extremely uncomfortable. You can't do the easy thing and give in and there's a blame that settles. But at the same time it's the strength you need to take another step when it seems almost impossible to do.
I'm familiar with that conflict. I hope you can find a chance for rest and recovery soon.

I've been in a similiar situation for many years. I got beyond the point where it made me nervous to a point where i am just numb. It's not an ideal situation but it's what's been working, yet i still feel the love I have for my kids.

I would suggest a therapist if you haven't seen one.

Yes, I can imagine that it's a unwordly. Having both joy and sadness, and actually wanting to keep the child away from your raw feelings. My mom was in that very same situation. Depression when older, mind you, is much worse. There's a time that one can't even do the daily things to do. Help is needed and don't feel anything against that. Some will be unhelpfell and some will be really helpfull. My mom got a lot of help from her parents. Taking over some things and helping her to task things better for her daily. She was 35 when I was born, and my dad got MS when I only six. It was a real struggle but she managed well nevertheless.

I hope you will identify the root cause and fix that soon.
