Do you know what brought it on? What works to relax you? I listen to Tibetan singing bowls and have galaxy ceiling lights when I just need to relax. Find something to relax

@AngelUnforgiven It's burnout from overwork, I've had it before.
It's the bodies reaction to chronic stress and anxiety when cortisols been high for a long time. It's like pressing the accelerator down with the brakes on, if you do it for a long time the engine will break.
Worst I ever had it was working 50 hours in a high stress environment for months, took me 2 months to recover.

@Mordechai I'm so sorry I've been there. I have a mild case of anxiety and I thank God that it isn't worse. I was working 96 hours a week. I cut down to 48. For my sanity. For your peace of mind and your health please do whatever you have to in order to make things better. I can tell you from experience that this is no way to live.

@AngelUnforgiven 96?!.I'd be dead. Glad you're out of that.
Someone in my family was working as an IT crisis manager for banks internationally and he was on call 24/7 every day. He had to leave eventually for the same reason.
I'm honestly in the wrong line of work for me, there's a saying that birds don't sing in caves and this is definitely the case. I'm going to look for new work in January.

@Mordechai Good for you! Yes I was killing myself. I've been on call also I would go into the office for 8 hours and then like clockwork someone would call off and if I couldn't find anyone to cover I'd have to work it, my final straw was doing 3 shifts in a row my eight hour shift and 2 other people's 12 hour shifts, 32 hours straight, I had a massive headache I resigned the next week I was on salary but it wasn't worth the stress.

@AngelUnforgiven That sounds illegal, but from experience I know how many loopholes there are in employment regulations. A lot of people have died from that.
Any company or employer who expects you to work 32 hours is not worth it even if they're paying silly money.
Good for you, I've learned my limits from last time and I'm actually listening to myself this time. Thanks for talking, I feel a bit better and more sure of my decision now
