@originnone Not always, it was painful at times, but went on for hours before I did anything about it. If it's a massive attack, yes it can kill you in no time. After effects of stents and then double bypass surgery go on for years.

@CommandLine Were you in a lot of pain? I always heard they hurt pretty badly.

@originnone No, felt like indigestion. Thats why I let it go on all day before I called the doctor and he called an ambulance.
I think I was lucky. I had two stents, they were going to do a third on a completely blocked artery, but abandoned it after two hours. Told me whilst I was still on the table that I would need a bypass. After a few months they did a double bypass, taking out the stents.
You should watch the surgery, they clamp your chest open. The scar still plays up, itches like hell.
As I said, I wouldn't recommend it. Major HA's can kill you on the spot and I think that would really hurt.
