Most of the time a technique called mindfulness could help a lot of people who say they suffer different anxieties
Just taking a moment to close you're eyes
concentrate of you're own breathing
In through the nose ,out through the mouth
Add something like rain in the background or water like a brook helps calm you're mind ..its very successful I hear for a lot of symptoms
It actually settles the mind
Its has helped addicts and alcoholics and people in pain to get their mind off the moment ,just take a moment to settle the mind
When no one believed me about how much physical pain I was in
accusing me of only wanting pain pills ,I was forced by the Va to participate in a class that taught the technique
And I was pissed they made me jump through such hoops pretending if I went through the steps they would help me ,all along thinking I was a liar or it was all in my head (I can be ignorant at times ,but I am not stupid ,I knew they were just string me along hoping I would give up playing their games )
But I had to admit that was the calmest point of my day
for the 30 min or so I was in the class ,I actually wasn't pissed at how I was being treated ,the instructor was also very good at her job .
I finally got tired of being nice and playing their games and decided 2 could play games until I pissed them off and got my MRI's .proving my pain was real and not in my head
But since the class ,I have used the technique quite a few times
and it does calm me down ,and relieves stress thereby reducing some pain
When you are tense and aggravated that also adds to the pain
At times ,I need all the help I can get
So I pray ,take hot showers ,and even practice a little "Mindfulness"
Or sit on a porch and watch birds
