I Battle Depression

@onelucasbest I've dealt with it for many years. So it hits me now and then. Recently it hit me, and I've been teyi g to climb my way back into the light. Getting closer day by day.

That really is good to hear. Have you learned what helps you out the best?

@onelucasbest No, cause it's been different every time. Sometimes it just runs it's course. This time I've had a couple of friends keep me from sinking deeper.

That’s great you have friends who know you well enough to be able to help.

@onelucasbest Well I have a history of self harm. A few of them know, and try to keep my mind occupied.

@SW-User Do you focus on work or hobbies? Something like that? And then you end up feeling better over time?

@onelucasbest Music is one thing that's always helped me. I find it's little things that help. I try to force myself to find a positive. Being depressed, it's hard to be positive. So I force it. My cat wanting to snuggle, helps. Going for a drive and blasting some music helps. It's what works for me.

Cat and car. Okay I’ll make sure to pick up one of each, got it.

I can’t wait to have a cat one day. I love them so much.

@onelucasbest Are you surrounded by people that you prefer not to be?

I seem to become unhappy around anyone after a few hours. It’s just something I have to work on because it isn’t anybody’s fault.

I can see that a lot of the issue is mine. I get annoyed and bitter very easily. I have to take responsibility for my own feelings and find a way to deal with these situations.

I'm sorry. I tend to get annoyed around a bunch of people for a length of time. So I have to go off and be alone for a moment.

Good advice. I should just do that. No wonder some certain relatives spend so much time out gardening than spending time with the rest of us.@SW-User

I am thank you! Once I was able to get away I started to feel much better. Also had another CBT therapy session yesterday which always helps me feel better.
