I can’t imagine how horrible it would be to be actively suicidal looking for support or someone understanding to talk with and then see a post making fun of it.

It’s a difficult time for many. Some just need to hear a kind voice in an unkind world. We never know the path someone is on. One can either respond or not, but the cruelest thing to do is to publicly negate someone without knowing their story.

You can mute the worst of the whiners, those that don't even bother to acknowledge replies and just re-post over and over again. Some are simply hooked on whining and the attention they get each time. Maybe wish a few of the honest and trying ones well. I would.

I think it’s the Vent refugees. They used that site because they needed to vent about their troubles. You can do that here, but it’s not purely for venting, it’s a mix of things, so I guess many of the depressed and suicidal have migrated here because of Vent shutting down. I have noticed many of the new members are posting about their problems.
