I have always struggled with a lot of rage

But it doesn't come out.

Or it does, but then it's uncontrollable almost

How do you deal with your rage?

With difficulties as I have misophonia. I don't even know where it comes from and it's so debilitating and embarrassing because so often it's unjustified and makes no sense.

@CrazyMusicLover for the sleeping part. They do work, it's not soundproof, you still hear, only muffled sounds, good enough to fall asleep

@sarabi That wouldn't work for me. ☹️ I get enraged by the slightest sound, just the fact that I can hear it is enough to make me seething.

@CrazyMusicLover I think there are construction workers ear plugs too, for super loud sounds. Last advice - soundproof ur bedroom

It is not a competition but your rage is actually calm compared to mine.

Same to many who responded to this thread.

I can safely say that on this site, my rage is the worst. I am really hell when angry. No one can deal with it.

I isolate. There is nothing else I can do.

Anger is one thing, even uncontrollable anger...you can do things to move on from it or let it pass through you without obsessing over retaliation. It id painful.

Rage is different, it is when all my thoughts and body movement is about homocide or suicide. I have zero empathy when that happens and there is no appealing to my affection. No love just chaos.

Rage is the expression of unresolved and unexpressed anger, the body needs to release emotion so it will do it whether or not we choose to ourselves. Best way is to validate your anger and find expression for it. Even if it means punching pillows or something.

We learn to repress anger as it's not accepted in society so we don't often have the tools to do it and we have to learn it ourselves. Repressed emotions and aspects of ourselves are like untamed wild animals, we can't control them because they're wild and untamed. Accepting and using your anger as a good thing is a way forward.

Like maybe somebody says something that you know is not okay, express it next time. You don't have to blow up on them, but you just say it sternly or directly.

Exercise and music. Meditation is probably good, though I never tried it.

It subsides as you get older.

I find working out helps and listening to very aggressive music helps me release a little bit

The gym. That and video games.

Fun activities to drain my energy so I won't have much left for destructive thoughts, besides alcohol makes me super angry so I stopped drinking.

Punching bag.. running.. writimg.. music.. etc. Trick is to stop thinking about it. And do something thst takes effort and energy.. find a conduit for that energy to flow through and out of you.
I haven't.

I never let it out. Maybe that's part of my problem

Asking the wrong person… I can keep mine in until pushed too far

Then it’s very hard to reign back in… and I hate that feeling… fuming
caccoon · 36-40
@WaryWitchWandering yeah it's one of the worst feelings. I hate the things I do and think when it's out of its harness

I usually hit, and most of the time broke, inanimate objects, or cursed....sometimes both . As I got older I learned that it really was not worth the trouble

Wait until I explode. Cry. Yell.

When I get angry and pushed past the point it’s just tears
