With difficulties as I have misophonia. I don't even know where it comes from and it's so debilitating and embarrassing because so often it's unjustified and makes no sense.

@CrazyMusicLover my cousin has this, it was really bad when we were little. She used to get so mad at me “stop chewing so loud!”…. Even if I was gulping down a drink she would claim to be able to hear me swallowing it!
She said it still drives her nuts to be around people eating and drinking but she is better at ignoring it. She herself takes tiny little bites and chews so soft and slow.

@WaryWitchWandering It's really horrible and those who never experienced it don't understand at all. I can more or less ignore eating sounds unless there's a specific situation but I can't stand snoring. It drives me crazy.

@CrazyMusicLover is it because it’s repetitive
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@WaryWitchWandering I don't know what is the cause of it but if then it's actually because it's not repetitive. I feel like my brain gets into an anticipation mode and expects another sound anytime. If I'm falling asleep, I can get used to perfectly repetitive sounds like clocks but if there's for example water dripping on a window-sill in irregular intervals my brain focuses on it too much and I can't sleep. Same with sounds made by another person sleeping in the same room with me. I don't even know when I got broken because I never had a problem with this when I was a kid. I only used to hate when someone bit their nails and now it doesn't bother me at all.

@CrazyMusicLover i have misophonia too. Yeah. Tough life

@CrazyMusicLover buy ear plugs
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@sarabi Do any of them really work though? Blocking sounds entirely is probably a problem.

@CrazyMusicLover for the sleeping part. They do work, it's not soundproof, you still hear, only muffled sounds, good enough to fall asleep
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@sarabi That wouldn't work for me. ☹️ I get enraged by the slightest sound, just the fact that I can hear it is enough to make me seething.

@CrazyMusicLover I think there are construction workers ear plugs too, for super loud sounds. Last advice - soundproof ur bedroom
