Rage is the expression of unresolved and unexpressed anger, the body needs to release emotion so it will do it whether or not we choose to ourselves. Best way is to validate your anger and find expression for it. Even if it means punching pillows or something.
We learn to repress anger as it's not accepted in society so we don't often have the tools to do it and we have to learn it ourselves. Repressed emotions and aspects of ourselves are like untamed wild animals, we can't control them because they're wild and untamed. Accepting and using your anger as a good thing is a way forward.
Like maybe somebody says something that you know is not okay, express it next time. You don't have to blow up on them, but you just say it sternly or directly.
