What is the secret to a good nights sleep?

I'd like to hear every ones thoughts on it.

I take a couple of arthritis strength Tylenol about an hour before I plan to go to bed. I don't drink more than a couple of sips of water 3 hours before I go to bed.

I try really hard not to eat anything greasy, or fried, or eat too much for dinner...and I try not to eat anything after 7 pm. If I am starving, I will eat some pineapple.

I make sure there are no lights on in the bedroom. I wear soft 3M ear plugs so that noises don't keep me awake. I make sure the bedroom isn't too hot or too cold. I only use the softest sheets and blankets.

Once I lie down I stretch a bit...not enough to hurt, but enough to work out any kinks. THEN if i feel as though I am not tired enough to sleep, I clench and tense up my entire body, feet, hands, shoulders, neck...everywhere...and then starting with my feet, I relax the muscles. Working my way up, I keep relaxing the muscles from the bottom to the top.

When I am done, I employ imagination. I imagine that I am extremely heavy. Heavier than 1000 pounds, and that I am sinking into the mattress.

That usually does it.
