I miss someone from the experience project. She was an ex headteacher and was full of wisdom. We met only a couple of times IRL. I was divorced. She had an open ish relationship. But meetings were at neutral venues. When EP collapsed -poof -connection gone. We communicated via DMs. Never exchanged phones. Seemed a big step back then.
I also miss EPs greater field. I met several people from my old school and we could chat about the good old bad old hand stinging days. In relative anonymity SW is too small for that to occur I miss those opportunities.
A guy called Leatherstrap, I actually don't know if he's still here. He had a calmness and genuine compassion for others but I wasn't good for him, didn't treat him right and eventually, he blocked me. That's been the only time I cared about being blocked but over all I think it's probably all for the right reasons, we seemed to bring out the worst in each other at times. 😊
@Gelly They are using the block button to filter out those who are not going to play with them. I don't think it's personal, it's just they are only using this site to get horny.
I can't remember his username. He loved Nikola Tesla - very smart, spiritual person who did engineering for fun (Elon scooped him up, sadly). I was friends with him off of EP, supported him through some things, but we lost touch.
@swirlie when you are too close and it's interfering with emotions and/or connections in either yours or their existing relationships. I was starting to feel like the interactions I had with a guy here were like the beginning of an actual relationship and that clearly couldn't happen, he was married and an American. I'm widowed, still grieving and British. I think he most likely blocked me because he knew that was actually best for me and although I miss him, I think that too actually.
@PatientlyWaiting25 You made an excellent point. Sometimes the universe will block us from certain things to keep our emotional well-being safe and secure. Maybe that was one of those times that you speak of..
Just a few that I used to have friendly sporadic chats with, but we've never blocked one another... I just take a lot of long breaks from here and we fell out of touch. I hope they're doing well though, always. 😊💕
Not anymore. Once people show me their true colours, I accept them for who they are and move accordingly. Sometimes you realise you weren't missing the person they truly were; you were missing the person you thought they were.
@Iknowyourouttheresomewhere Nobody tells anyone they have multiple accounts. What would be the point of having an alt if everyone knew it's true identity? Try something else to see if I buy it.
Nope. If someone with whom I am in a voluntary, mutual conversation tells me to stop bothering them or to go annoy someone else, or something similar, I will simply grant their wish and block them. I did it yesterday, cleanly and efficiently.
I think it's more of I miss who I thought they were rather than who they actually are ... all I know is I'm better off not communicating with them at all .
Not really miss, more like fond memories. But yeah, this site I don't generally use to try to form serious connections anymore. I think there are better ways.
