Start immediately taking care of yourself so you don't fall into a depression. And try to look for positives in the situation like how you dodged a bullet and it didn't happen years later.

I was engaged to a guy that I dated throughout our undergrad years. We graduated, he asked me to marry him that August before we headed to different grad programs at different schools, and he was cheating within less than two months of popping the question.
It is coming up on four year since he asked me to marry him. I still hurt.
People tell me that I dodged a bullet. I feel like the bullet my hit heart my heart and shattered it, I still struggle. I hurt for you and anyone else that experiences this. 🤗

@eMortal It was obviously not all that was important to him. It meant something to me.

@eMortal It is. You are right. I am stuck there.

With relief.

relieved not to be stuck with a loser?
Forget about her and move on. She clearly isn’t worth your tears, hurt or sadness.

I find the best way to walk away from attachment to someone, whether its because of a brake up, a fight or even because they died, is to wish them happiness and peace of mind and then let them go. this perspective has helped me many times: death of my best friend, suicide of a good friend, death of my dog, break ups and people who have hurt me. I just wish them all well.
