Empathy is one of the learned traits. And must be learned before the age of seven.

So I would have to go back to before the age of seven to even give why I believe I'm empathetic.

Again empathy is learned. And some of my earliest memories revolve around concern over my mother. It's hard to say why I was concerned over her. Because it was in a dream that really made no sense.

Yet in the dream I remember hearing my mother fighting with something or someone. Getting up and going down the hall mom was trying to keep the sliding glass door shut, in our new trailer.

Nothing visible was on the other side of the glass door. Yet mom couldn't seem to keep the door shut.

That's when I remembered mom talking about ghosts.

That's all I remember of the dream. Yet the concern for my mother was there. This dream has stuck with me all my life. I was about 5 at the time.

For some people, yeah. But over the years I've discovered that there are a lot of people who don't know how to get out of their own way. It's just draining to maintain love and empathy for someone that refuses to learn or grow. One can only hear so many excuses before needing to let go to avoid being dragged down as well

Excruciatingly so. But I know how to pause, feel it, then try to do/say something kind and move on.

I have always had too much i think. Tellin ya. It's running out.

Im more selective now. I save most for those that matter to me.

I care about people in general. But true caring, i save for those who i love

Sometimes. My faith in people took a big hit last November so I’ve been a bit guarded, but I’d do anything for those I care about. I wish I had the means to do more, especially where I volunteer. 🥺

I do, yes. People can't always help the way things are going for them.
