I think that true love is only felt for one’s children. Otherwise there’s always a certain degree of fickleness to it. Someone feeling a sense of duty towards me feels better than love.

That's a complicated question... each of us has a slightly different answer, and in those differences is where we get hung up.

In any case, with a broad brush stroke, I'd say love to me is feeling like there is nothing I would not do for my mate/partner. Putting them first, but also, in knowing for them, I come first.

I have their back... always, and at the same time, they have mine.

When they are down, I'm there to lift them up, and they are there in the same manner for me.

You wont get a good therapist. I think this. Also I think you might be in trouble for a long time into the future. I wish I didn't have to say this...and I wish people didn't get messed up this way.
