I failed to put on two of the same shoes a couple of days ago 😒still don't know how I didn't notice right away.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Lostpoet All too easily done when you're tired and perhaps the light is not good. I went to a wedding wearing a suit...I thought. Only part way through the receprion did I realise that the trousers were not the correct ones. They were dark enough for me not to notice first thing, but the jacket was very dark blue and my trousers were black. I don't think it showed in the photos, but I felt a right idiot when I noticed and tried to keep in the shadows after that.

I once got into the wrong car on my way out of the mall and my brother & his girlfriend saw it.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@BlueVeins We entered a wrong plane. Yes, you hear that right. 😂 Not only our fail but also the fail of the worker who let us even out of the building when checking the tickets.

I remember I came 29/30 in a PE class
It was awful. The school uniform was this short short skirt and regulation school undies I always forgot.
To clarify I would forget to wear the school regulation undies, not underwear altogether.
Although once I did wear my shoes on the wrong feet, left on right and vice versa, all the way to school. That was a 2k walk. A train. And a bus. I'm ADD so don't have great body awareness.
Anyway, so I'm all upset and telling my friend about how much I suxed at physical things, and how uncoordinated I am and how I came 29th out of 30.
"I came 30th," she said, making me bad at social interactions AND sport.

Well, assuming this was at work - keep in mind that no matter how good we do at our job, it is never enough anyways. Even if you had passed, they would then expect 100% more effort for like a 3% pay raise, so you are better off not passing.
If it was a college test - the class and the books often do not seem to coincide with what is on the test. So that is not your fault.
Also, most people do not talk about their failures in life, we hear only the good news. So trust me, you are not the first.
But for my failure in life - same boat as @contrails except just a little younger.
One thing that is we*rd in life - when we have dreams or trying to do something, everyone says we cannot do it because we are not smart enough, don't have the right schooling, don't know the right people, or whatever.
But THEN when we finally give up, people suddenly try to encourage us to do good.

@HoochieTheClown I will not give up.
Thank you for this perspective. I truly am not ready for the responsibility after the exam. So maybe it's just good timing

I once almost hopped into the back of a police car thinking it was a taxi. I was inebriated at the time.

A close friend of mine was written off as unteachable by his school. He’s now a doctor. Not everyone succeeds the way others expect.
Don’t give up because you failed one exam. Learn from the experience and do better next time. Good luck with your studies! 🙂

First, it's just an exam. Do it again etc.
Second I hate the term failure. It's used so widely as an insult etc.
My worst "failure" was actually my saving.
Two parts to mine. One was finding myself in a police station with a carrier bag of belongings having left my husband after he helped someone rape me. I couldn't face pressing charges for the rape but the police helped me for other information I gave. I remember being on a train heading to a town I never heard of thinking death would be preferable. I met a lady who helped me start to rebuild.
A few years on I talking to a guy about my drinking and the word "failure" cycling in my head. He helped pour the booze down the drain and I moved on again.
I'm now ridiculously happy where I am in life. Those "failures" made me better.
Just remember "Failure isn't falling down it is staying down". Get up and go again.

Life's not perfect
It's never perfect it was never made to be perfect it's full of imbalances and there is what we call balance but I used to say the only time it can be better is when you fall and you know quite well that you are on the wrong side and get up again
Recently I will say one of my failures that deal with till date is the fact that I never listened to my aunt right from my secondary school days
I could remember those period I do risk going to write exams for people and she always wants me about it
Failure to adhere to what she always warned me about drag me be to being a dropout today
I remember in my higher institution days I used to go write exams for people just to earn some money
There was this particular one I went to write that led to my being dropped out
In life we learn lessons for our mistakes and we live and get better by realizing it and trying hard to be better and sometimes we don't have the opportunity to right the wrong
I think for your exams you still have the opportunity to do better
You can reapply and read better and work more on yourself to get a better result and trust me I always say the only time one fail is when one gives up totally that's failure.
You will become better and for real I wait to hear your testimonies. 💜

What about reaching 60 years of age with no savings and no retirement plan? You at least have plenty of time to correct course and get things right. My whole life has been a complete and unmitigated failure, I wish that "failing an exam" was all I had to feel bad about.
turningthekeys · 31-35, F
@contrails I will try to do better at my job so I can save....I don't know.
AmericanAvenger · 56-60, M
@contrails I can understand, brother. I cant say that I feel that much better at the same age. My life has been a series of bad decisions, bad luck, and losses. If you have a job, at least you have some income. I was load off 2 years ago and no one will hire me. Too young for social security and too old to go back to school or learn a trade. I am trying to figure out a way to make some money on my own. I do have a little savings and some 401K but I think can relate to your feelings.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Technically, not a failure because I passed but a humiliating experience when I was told that at my final exam I sounded as if I shat my pants. And I was totally aware of the impression I was giving. I had a massive anxiety attack with brain fog, racing thoughts, stage fright and if they hadn't focused on what I was saying, just how I was fumbling and faltering, I would have been kicked out together with the door before I even managed to get to the second question.

You a not alone, and the world is far far from a perfect place. Life can be real hard at times, and even damn right cruel at times. As long as you tried your best, then no need to beat yourself up over it.
I messaged you a while back, if you fancy a chat at any time, send a reply when your ready :)

I’m gonna come back to this post and call me. I’m just leaving my spot to remind me to come back.
We all fail. The trick is to try, try again. It’s not who is the smartest or the best, it is who is the most persistent.
I have failed at SO many things, but I’m drawing a blank trying to come up with something. So that’s says enough about failures 😂 We live, learn and move on!
But let’s see….
Ok, biggest one probably? I did a program that I truly excelled at. I got raving reviews, graduated, was all set to move on with a new degree. AFTER I’d already walked graduation I got called into the directors office. One of the instructors had lost one of my papers proving I’d passed a clinical. Mind you, you can’t redo clinicals once all is said and done. Paperwork was done before everyone left each day. At the end the semester there was a clinical makeup day, and I was actually the only student who didn’t have to redo any because I had passed them all. Now, tell me how I had been passing all the way up until AFTER graduation, but then suddenly they decided to fail me? I tried cooperating with them. I signed a non disclosure agreement. I even agreed to retake the class the following year. They threw obstacle after obstacle at me until 2 weeks before class started they suddenly said I had to buy something that cost over $2,000! That was my breaking point. I remember reading that email and then just screaming! I cried and cried. I finally decided it wasn’t worth it. If fought up to that point because they had wronged me. I’d already found a job that had way better benefits and pay. So I finally just decided to let them win and move on with my life. I still feel like a failure when really I was just incredibly wronged. I wish I’d been able to afford a lawyer at the time. But ya know, life has worked out pretty well for me and that degree is entirely meaningless to me now. Life works in mysterious ways!
Just yesterday I forgot my purse at a doctor’s office. Last week I tried to get my van to start for 15 minutes before realizing I had the wrong keys! 😂 Pregnancy brain has me screwing up everything right now haha.
This too shall pass! Just keep chuggin along ^_^

Adding oil to the engine during an oil change and not putting the drain plug in. $$$ synthetic oil all over the pavement.

I never have failures. I have lessons. If you didn't get a passing grade in an exam, it's a lesson that you need to work harder on the content. Life is full of failures if you look at it like that, but it's better to have teaching moments.
