Personal rant about life

I feel like I'm just working till I die. Not particularly passionate about what I do, it's just a job. My kids see a Dad that isn't there much. When I look in the mirror I see someone who's gotten older and is back to being as financially screwed as I was in my 20's.

I'm to young to feel like I'm waiting for death, to old for.... I'm not even sure what. Starting over again, again? Little interest in a lot

I can lay down bunch of suggestions, at the end of the day there are thousands and thousands of people and families living exactly like this. Including the prevalence of one absent parent..

And it is not even your fault!!

I talked about this earlier. Unless you have enough financial help you are going to be suffering this way to provide. Sure, family can adopt little bit minimalism and give you enough time to sit with yourself, but it won't be enough. It is like feeding your motivation scraps.

The flaw is how we built our civilizations and economics. It is structured in a way that benefit the one percent and the rest just waste away..

Up until recently i was doing the same thing, i was literally living at work, had an apartment there and everything, i was working 108 hours a week, so i decided to cut down my hours, i'm working 48 now. you may not want to change jobs, but sometimes we have to, we are so afraid of change that we dread it. i made some lifestyle changes and did what i had to do. Although the money was great, life was passing me by and i had to think about the ones that i love, i felt that they were more important to me, you need to weigh whats important to you.

You only have a few options, since you dont want to try a different job, invest, save to make sure that you reap the fruits of your labor, do what you have to in order to retire. Unless you work 7 days a week, then you make time for the kids. Its the small things, do some things together, even if its just quality time, board games, shopping, go to a park, it doesn't matter how old they are, they understand that you have to work and that everything that you've sacrificed for isnt free. Its true what they say about Happiness being a state of mind. If you were dirt poor and homeless living in a car with these kids you could still take them to a park, play a game etc. .count your blessings, be thankful that you are able bodied to work like you do.
@AngelUnforgiven I work away more than 7 days a week. It takes a toll on my mind and body

Your kids also see a dad who is a hard worker! That will leave a lasting impression on them

Dude, it is NEVER too late. If you try amd fail, youd be in the same spot. But you may fucking succeed tho.
If you stay like that, and never tried, all you will achive is getting old. Just saying.

Maybe get a different job that you enjoy instead?
