Thinking of ending my life.

Hey. I am just another depressed guy from Europe who lost his passion in living. There is absolutely nothing in my life that brings me a single drop of happiness, joy, pleasure, excitement anymore. I don't know what to do at this point. Everything is so pointless. I have already organized my room, written letters to my friends and family and planned my exit. I have attempted before however this time I'm sure it will work. And because of that I actually want to seek for help. I hate everything about my life and I want to end it but in a way I want help. I don't know what to do and how it's going to end.

I have used this method all my life and it works. Here's the rule: Change Your Mind and You'll Change Your Life. I'm old now and I have used this and it works! Have fun with it. Change your life up, to anything you want. You do have that power. You just don't realize it now because in the pain you are in you're not able to think straight about these things. Also if you go out and help other people it really gives you purpose and makes you feel good. Someone out there you could help who is in the same shape you are and you might find a good friend like that. Someone needs you out there. People do need people. Just go to a restaurant and sit down and look who looks lonely and walk up to them and start a conversation. Even if you're shy, all it takes is hey man, how you doin'? And there you go you have a friend to hang out with so you're not so lonely.

If i ever feel like i should end it i try my best to help others. Even in the slightesr way.
That gives me purpose. That purpose matters.
Please reconsider

@Gangstress God does give lives purpose. He transforms lives. I have seen it over and over. Horribly addicted alcoholics, prostitutes turn their lives around, since hearing about Jesus and turning to Him, hardened criminals turning to Him and changing their lives completely. Jesus is the answer to the puzzle of life, and He's the only one that can fill that void in our hearts. The Holy Spirit that God gives us, when we turn to Him, transforms our lives for the better, who then dwells in us and makes our heart and spirit complete.

A young man here on SW, had given up on his life completely and was going to kill himself. Prayer does work. I told him about Jesus.

I got a letter from him today: "I’m doing great god’s helping me to be in a better place in life I have university coming this year and have so much going on in my life."

Prayer does work and Jesus does transform lives. This is proof and He has changed thousands of lives. He's in the miracle business. He turns no one away.

Sometimes it takes several different kinds of therapists with different psychotherapy techniques at the same time. Not all therapists are good at what they do or are the right match. I had to try out several therapists over years before I found someone who actually clicked with me, that I felt safe with and that I actually saw measurable progress with.

It can also take months/years of trial and error and dosage tweaks before you find meds that help too. I also went through that.

I read your comment that you've tried therapy for years. I've been there man, and I'm really sorry your in that space. I hope you can find someone to help if your in crisis and someone else to help for the long run. 🤗

I'm not one who likes to say "I'm triggered" but that was kind of triggering. I've had a friend who had this exact fail happen. Not everyone takes surviving failed attempt as a prompt to turn to Christianity, definitely not me nor my friend.

I had to share this with you. The following is from some young man here on SW, whom I wrote to, that had given up on his life completely and was going to kill himself.

I got this from him today: "I’m doing great god’s helping me to be in a better place in life I have university coming this year and have so much going on in my life."

Prayer does work and Jesus does transform lives. This is proof and He has changed thousands of lives.

I don’t really have the answers you may be looking for, I’m not great at advice cause I’m going through the same thing right now and don’t even have the answers to my own problems. But if you ever need a friend who understands what you’re going through, I am here. Im mostly all the time available if you ever need to talk, It doesn’t even have to be about depressing shit it could be about anything really. But yeah Im here if you need anything.

I know this sounds like the opposite of what you think you should do...but try thinkinga about what you can do for others right now - known or unknown to you. See if you can find value outside of yourself.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@okaybut I like your idea. Thank you lots.
valzgore · 18-21, F
well by scrolling further down i can see that therapy has not helped, understandable, this might seem weird, but try and get closer to the people you love. it will give you a purpose, and eventually you’ll work your way up. i promise you that getting better is possible for you, i’m a stranger on the internet i know but honestly by reading this i know that you’ve got it in you
RotMot · 18-21, M
@valzgore I'm not sure getting better is an option anymore to be completely honest haha.
valzgore · 18-21, F
@RotMot being unsure is okay, please don’t end your life you’re young, you have a whole entire life ahead of you don’t let this overtake you
RotMot · 18-21, M
@valzgore Same goes to you. Be careful.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
I pray you receive the truth and find the way from it

If you don't know Jesus and follow him and obey him, that's out of the frying pan into the fire, and if you do belong to Jesus then trust him and reach out to him

Read Mark 11 for understanding of prayer and faith, read Job to understand suffering and enduring
RotMot · 18-21, M
@th3r0n I'm not religious but if you suggest that will help me i will try. Thank you.
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@RotMot the only hope I ever found was in Jesus

God has done some unimaginable things for me
You're probably depressed and would benefit from therapy and medication. I'm not a doctor but most people your age are not thinking about death. They're resilient and optimistic simply because they are young. It sounds like you need help from a professional.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@Spoiledbrat I've tried out professional help but sadly it does not work ...
I appreciate your concern thought.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
You're too young and you could maim yourself. Depending where in Europe you are you may have a chance of getting some decent help so please try that instead.

Don't attempt. You could end up disabled or a vegetable.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@GeistInTheMachine Haha you're right. That would be horrible....
valzgore · 18-21, F
Me and you the same buddy, life is tough and it’s unfair, it’s cruel. i’ve already written a few notes to close friends and family for my parting, but i can see change. i can see change in you, you’re going to get better i promise you, try talking to someone super close about it first and then try have a therapist, by your description, it seems like it will work. it’s expensive i know, but it’s better than you not being here, you have something, you have that will to get better, to try and seek help. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!! :)) You got this Pal. Trust! Keep me updated❤️
RotMot · 18-21, M
@valzgore Please do not end your life. Just from your comment i can tell you're too good for this world. You're needed.
valzgore · 18-21, F
@RotMot so are you, maybe you should learn to help youself before helping others, but i appreciate you
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Going through what you are will make you stronger and a better person. At your age I was of a similar mind set. Focus on what you like brings you joy. Go to a childrens cemetary. See headstone with only one date on it. A life that lasted maybe a day and you have had so much more life. If you need to take a step away and take deep breaths do it.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@MrBrownstone Thank you so much. I will try that.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@RotMot Life is fo enjoyment. Do what you like. Remember not everyone likes what you do and that’s ok. Live your life for yourself.

I don't know where you are but they will be help look on line .

Before you do anything silly ask for help even if you have call the police and say look sorry to borter you im say you name and my location is im planning to end my life now.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@Adamski24 Each time i attempt i must admit I'm far too shy to call anyone haha
Adamski24 · 41-45, M
@RotMot no meed to be shy or embarrassed that is what they're here for to help.
Always remember it's good to talk.
Believe in yourself more i believe in you and know you're loved and essential to the world. You know you have to strength and confidence to pick up the phone.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@Adamski24 that is a good philosophy on that meme. But as far as calling the police, I say that is a bad idea because I think attempted suicide is actually illegal in some places. There are other lines that he could call

Please seek out help . Do not end your life . It will get better

I'm sorry. It's a shitty feeling I am sorry
em1ly · 18-21, F
I think you should try going to therapy. Maybe that'll help you. Please don't end your life. You are loved by many people even when it may not seem like it sometimes. Try to find joy in little things. Write the things you are thankful for in a notebook/journal. Please take care💛
Lostpoet · M
Go outside and walk around a little bit. Have you tried contacting a help hotline?
RotMot · 18-21, M
@Lostpoet I'd rather not take up your mind with my own negativity and bring you down. But thank you for being so kind.
Lostpoet · M
@RotMot Nah, I'm already as far down as someone can go. I just want you to know that you are worth it whatever you are looking for in life don't let the world or other people drag you down. I know that's cliche as fck but it's true. You are worth whatever it is that you are fighting for. Just keep going and things might change for the better.
RotMot · 18-21, M
@Lostpoet Thank you so much you really are too kind.
caccoon · 36-40
Have you ever sought counselling or treatment before?

I am really sorry you're feeling this way
RotMot · 18-21, M
@caccoon Thank you so much for your concern. And yes - I went to therapy for years. It does not help. All that it leads to is disappointment. Although I might try signing up to a psych ward to. I don't know if thats a good idea.
caccoon · 36-40
@RotMot I think you should go to the psych ward so you're safe <3
