3 years longer than I predicted so far and going strong

SwampFlower · 31-35, F
I’ve survived 6 years with a disease the average life expectancy is less than 6 months.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
Last November I had a very bad case of pneumonia and a dka incident as well as sepsis, one night my sugar went so low I came close to dying.
I was in the hospital for 14 miserable days.
Less than a year later my husband died and I wished that I would have died with him when it happened.
But, my grandkids and children still need me, I guess.

I was punched in head by an adult man when I was 5 and went into a instant grand mal seizure. That punch in head gave me a seizure disorder for the rest of my life

I almost drowned at 7, I jump off a cliff because I seen my moms friend do it and swim and I thought I could do it

I was hit by car while I was sidewalk when I 10. Some drunk lost control of their car was driving on the sidewalk. I walked away unharmed

In the early 90s I was in demolishing Derby. My legs got pinned inside and while I was trying to free them. A big station wagon hit the side of my car and rolled my car and their car went on top of mine. I was trapped and I could see a fire coming from the station wagon.

In March of 2022 my seizures came back strong that my heart stopped and spent some serious time in hospital.

Something wants to punish me, or just wants me dead. I'm like living real life movie of Final Destination

@HumanEarth Damn .. your Guardian Angel musg be frazzled by now
HumanEarth · F
@HootyTheNightOwl I wish, tell that to my skeleton and my joints. I'm walk in pain everyday, but refuse to take pain relievers, because I'm a afraid of addiction

@BrandNewMan No shit, I only list some of the things, I could add a couple more to the list. But everyone gets the point I'm trying to make

No, but I have been lucky. Never smoking, and having drunk alcohol only moderately for many years now, helps, but I have outlived some friends lost to illnesses.
Well, i technically shouldn't be here

My heart stopped and i was revived
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@Bexsy I am glad you were revived. I had a stroke late 2018, due to an old neck injury that I didn't know was a ticking time bomb.
@SlippingAway so glad you're here too

With my pregnancy it went from pre ecampsia to full eclampsia. Seizures then heart stopped. Emergency csection was done
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@Bexsy Scary, I am so glad you made it out okay. It's crazy how much women endure during childbirth.
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
I'm in the window in about 3 yrs for men on my Dad's side .. but I haven't smoked 2 packs of unfiltered Camels a day for 45 yrs like they did .. I might get some more time for that. Dad is in his early 80s.
Both myself and cancer have tried to get me. I must be part cat because I'm easily on my fourth or fifth life.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Yup. I always thought I'd be dead by 35. Now I'm 37 and have no idea what to do with my life.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@thepeculiarpanda Same boat, not sure what to do now that I've survived past when I thought I would
My time card was almost punched in 2008, but the doctors saved me. So now I don’t know.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
Not sure what I expected but, looking back, I think I am fortunate to be here. Many friends didn't make it.
fun4us2b · M
Why do you say that? 😕

My Dad made it to 98.5 ... no way I'm making it that long....
No, I am going to live to be 140, I'm in the youth of my life, I'm a youngster at the age of 52
peterlee · M
You just don’t know.

Three of my friends died at Uni.

My school friends started passing away at fifty. That was a shock.
OldBrit · 61-69, M
Yep. I never expected to be in my 60s with grandkids etc

I'm glad my fairly pathetic suicide attempts and my alcohol madness didn't kill me.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
Oh I always figured I’d be dead by twenty. I barely made it there as it is so Im amazed I’ve survived this long.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
GnomeyGee · 41-45, M
Yep! It blows my mind I've lasted 44 years 🤯
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
Yes I am!
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
Yes I have. I figured my heart would have given out on me by now
Unfortunately
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Yes, by a lot.
41 years and counting...
peterlee · M
@HootyTheNightOwl A mere youth. Enjoy.
Don't say that. Why did you say that?
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@SinlessOnslaught My father and his father died young from heart issues, and I've had my troubles I didn't expect to make it this long.
@SlippingAway I'm glad you did. Don't let that change anytime soon.
Lostpoet · M
Longer than I wanted to
Degbeme · 70-79, M
In a word, yes.
Don't say such things
I have faced death multiple times, including last late may after a bad intestinal bleed from anticoagulants having my blood thinner than water and emergency colorectal cancer surgery.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@NativePortlander1970 You've been through a lot, glad you are doing better
@SlippingAway (((((HUGS))))) Thank You so very much 😊🤗❤
