Pain comes from external sources to your brain, so destroying the brain first prevents it. It has to be quick though, and I think fear is also pretty nasty. You wouldn't want to see it coming, like if you held a gun to your head.

@exchrist It shouldn't and it doesn't. People who die, are 99% of the time taken at a time when their loved ones can take it. And 'someone you are attached to disappears suddenly (with no hope of coming back)' usually happens because of something (sin) you did in the past. I'm sorry, but that is true.
