Quantum physicists have done a pretty good job at convincing us that there is a lot more to the universe than what we see, even with a microscope. So many unexplained mysteries to life and the world we can see and touch. Why not an equal number of mysteries to the world we don’t see and not touch? It’s hard to believe that we would cease to exist when we die. Is judgment day and the day we die one and the same? Hummm???
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
Neither, is my guess. And that is all I -- like everyone else -- has: a guess. The body dies and turns to ashes or degrades back into feeding other organisms depending upon burial; if anything remains of the energy, I suspect Mosscamp the Robot is correct and it is only "remnants" that might surface in other future beings. What a thought provoking question. This seems like the original intent of this place , not to bag on politicians.
I believe our soul transitions …somewhere .

I'm gonna tell you this .
No one can answer that question until they die .
Every other theory , understanding puts the fear of God into you about life , so in other words if you take on all of that information you be afraid to live

Where is our soul located when in a dreamless sleep? Death could be the same. Just nothing. Non-existence. Images if we don't wake up. Maybe death is the same. I can be wrong.
But if we ever wake up, it would be in another dimension. A completely different reality.

Interesting question but there's no empirical evidence to support your first proposal or that there could be Armageddon followed by an after-life. It's all a matter of faith, isn't it?

Orthodox Catholics believe that God judges each soul as soon as a person’s body dies. Souls are then sent straight to Heaven or Hell, rather than waiting for a Day of Judgement. This is called personal judgement. It's an essential element of Catholicism.
Some heretics believe that all souls must wait until the Day of Last Judgement, when they will be judged together. They are standing at some bus stop by the billions, waiting for the bus which will get them to the Last Judgement.

So, Orthodox Catholics don't believe in the biblical fairytale that their committee wrote in the 680s. Maybe they should read it at least once in their lifetimes.

@TheShanachie American preachers tell them that poverty is punishment from some god with issues. Oh, and that voting for Democrats guarantees eternal damnation.

@Crazywaterspring right on the mark!!

@DeWayfarer just borrowing a quote from Einstein 🤷🏻♀
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Lilymoon even Einstein was baffled by the cause of things. He spent his life attempting to make a unified theory that would explain the existence of a type of god and never could do it.
Not really looking at what was in front of him. Very smart people can become just too focused. They see the trees and not the forest with the trees in it.

Ashes to ashes is all you get, there is nothing after that. Minuscule parts of you may appear in something else but you, conscious you, will never know it because your conscious dies with you. You are a unique grouping of cells and life experiences and when your brain dies all that goes away.
Idk something or other..
Who knows doesn't matter

You'll go back to where you came from, that's all.

We go to another place. It could be another dimension.

The soul instantly gets to join the queue a transit zone to be born in any of the earth in the numerous solar systems in the universe.

To the best of my knowledge, I have never had that experience so I am eager to hear about yours. Will you share?
and where is your take for the question? You have no original thinking I suppose..
The way you responed in the other post indicates that you have first-hand knowledge. Therefore, I am curious about how many times you have experienced that event. To the best of my knowledge, I have never had that experience so I am eager to hear about yours. Will you share?

@Diotrephes that's a good way to approach to know the unknown. There is no such thing as first hand knowledge as knowledge is first hand to each. So each of us share what we know and get to know, as against what we are made to believe amidst various beliefs that are imposed on us in the name of knowledge.
