What do you think happens after death?

You turn into an animal?
akindheart · 61-69, F
i am praying that they wait for us on the other side because i have someone special i want to see again
Morvoren · F
Nothing. Game over.
Uncfred · 61-69, M
@Morvoren Batteries are recycled because they are regeneratable,
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@Uncfred Dead batteries and light bulbs get replaced and recycled.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Peaceandnamaste There's so much battery symbolism in this string, I've lost track of what we were talking about.
Uncfred · 61-69, M
Judging from my recent experience, something exists, even coming from the other side. I need to believe in that something because it cant come soon enough, and I have a date with my wife.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
I'm open to transmigration or known as reincarnation. Energy never dies and can't be created or destroyed.

If there's life on other planets, galaxies, universes and dimensions then it's possible we can come back in those other Universes or dimensions.

The body returns to mother earth to be used by other organisms and the energy (essence) travels and lives on.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
Well the body decomposes and the Soul carries on and on and on
sree251 · 41-45, M
We know what happens after the body dies. It is placed in a casket and buried or burned before it starts decaying.

But what do you think is happening before the body dies? Scientists and scholars in academia can't figure out how we are connected to our bodies. The majority of them (in neuroscience and psychology) think we are created by the body (i.e. brain). There is a minority (mainly in philosophy) who doubt that because they cannot resolve the Hard Problem of Consciousness. The non-experts (i.e. layfolks) like you and me - who are not into religion and spirituality - are left to our own imaginations.

So, what do you think is happening before the body dies? Are you an American who wants to defend democracy, a man who wants to be a woman, or a person who is bored with life and wants to know what happens after death?
I think we ascend to other planes. I would like to think we are reunited however briefly with love ones both people and pets. Then we travel on. I will wait to experience all of that. I have many decades remaining.
BarbossasHusband · 36-40, M
I believe in reincarnation, but there's an unknown amount of time to wait in the afterlife before you may be reborn.
YorkieLass · 31-35, F
A massive burst of yellow light comes from our bodies and we change into someone else
fun4us2b · M
I'm not sure...
fun4us2b · M
@fun4us2b On 2nd thought - We live on in the thoughts of others. At least, the ones who passed before me are always in my thoughts. I hear their voices and remember what they would have said and use that to guide me.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Our consciousness vanishes and our body rots.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@ViciDraco Do you believe atoms and energy get recycled after death?
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Peaceandnamaste Yes, but neither of those have anything to do with the existence of a soul.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Peaceandnamaste If...Either way, sexism and racism has existed since the dawn of civilization and doesn't seem to be ceasing so whether reincarnation exists or not, it doesn't solve this particular issue.
Iwantout · 26-30, M
Well when I died I got collected by some women took a fast but uncomfortable trip and ended up in a place devoid of light
Tennessee · 46-50, F
I want to reincarnate into a Tennessean
Tennessee · 46-50, F
@AthrillatheHunt oh no oh no
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@Tennessee yup. Lol
Tennessee · 46-50, F
@AthrillatheHunt genetically I'm Tennessean now but in the next life I'm going to be Alabamian???
Tennessee · 46-50, F
I think we reincarnate. And also there's other planets and universes and dimensions to reincarnate into.
ravenhill · 46-50, M
no not an animal, people continue on to new worlds and heavenly realms on the journey to be in paradise.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
If you were a good person you get to be a giraffe if you are a bad person you get to be a dung beetle.
pentacorn · F
i believe we return to the same state as before birth; nonexistent
Hopefully nothing. Who wants any of this for eternity?
TheFragile · 46-50, M
Our spirit/soul lives on.
Eternity · 26-30, M
Well, the last time I didnt exist I ended up here.

So the next time I dont exist I expect something similar to happen.

I'll probably end up in some bright and loud place feeling sensations ive never felt before and with no knowledge of what I use to be.
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
@Eternity ☠️
HannahSky · F
Nobody really knows
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@Morvoren I believe that energy never dies and it can't be created or destroyed, if science all of the sudden proved reincarnation this will solve racism and sexism.

Trumpist racists seem to have a problem that they could be another ethnicity in a previous life.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I don't believe in life after death. I believe in life after life. We shed this body to be clothed in immortality.
SW-User
@hippyjoe1955 thank you for the “believe”
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@SW-User Since I personally have not crossed that line.... I have had visitations from the other side so.....
revenant · F
I believe most are stuck in loops of reincarnation and should strive to make this life the last.

Where do we go afterwards ? not sure
originnone · 61-69, M
They throw your sorry ass into the ground and forget about you...at least I hope so.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
If not refrigerated or embalmed your body decomposes after death .
SW-User
A lot of things happen, we just won’t be there to see them.
SW-User
Nothing unfortunately
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@SW-User How do you know it's nothing when science states that energy can't be created or destroyed. To completely disappear goes against the laws of physics.
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
Death is death
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@Havesomefun2 Death is a social construct just like gender and race.
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
@Peaceandnamaste when is done we all feed the plt
Not sure, but probably not that…
@originnone I’d love to be a cat, especially someone’s beloved house cat. What a life !

But believe it or not, I don’t think any of these movies or books should be banned.

There are actually people born this century who don’t believe that such ugliness and hatred has been this country’s legacy.

So it needs to stand as proof of what ours and previous generations have been fighting about. It’s important that the truth of what people thought not be lost

With the GOP it’s become all or nothing—if they can’t celebrate the history they want to erase it. 🥺
originnone · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard I think I'd be a spider....

As I was watching, I tried to imagine whether I could imagine the klan to be a good thing as a white person, and I found it easy to do. That bothers me. If I can do that, so can a lot of people. For that reason, I think it's really unhealthy for white people to see it if they don't know what the klan really is or what they can expect from the movie. I found it pretty disturbing from that standpoint....
@originnone I have always wondered if I would be a racist if I were white. This country and much of the world encourages it. I’m guessing it would depend on my upbringing, but I actually have white relatives in the south who somehow managed not to be racists.
TheDisciplinarian · 61-69, M
The Soul ..Never dies
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
