What is the best job that u ever had ? ⚒

Hmmmmm. Let me think about this one right here.
I remember about 10 years ago, I worked at an amusement park here on the water.
It was absolutely the best and the most fun job I have ever encountered. I had the best coworkers ever.
I met numerous people, dated a few gorgeous women, and had some adventures that I will never forget.
That was definitely a special period in my life. I worked there for 3 years.
So many memories during the 2010s.
I even started going back to the movies again around that time too.
What about you.my SW Peeps.
Do you remember the best job that you ever had. I m listening.
Best job wins.

Hard to say, but I think it's probably a two year stint with a small army technical assistance field team in Egypt.

While the hours and nearly a constant 7 day a week work routine was sometimes a negative, the chance to travel to all the historical sights in the country, plus visits to Israel and the Red Sea, made it a memorable time in my life..

I have had 2 jobs I really liked, being a Marine, the travel, the "get the job done" attitude, and the job I have now as a field rep for a company that makes aircraft engines. I get calls from guys that are having trouble, and I find a solution, sometimes it is turning wrenches, sometimes it is chasing wires. I can work from anyplace I can answer my phone and get on my computer. Sometimes I am riding my motorcycle and taking calls. Thank God for bluetooth headsets. Sometimes I am on the riverbank, if I ever have to get a real job again it is going to suck.

I used to paint houses when I was in hs and college. It was my own business so the money was good and you’re out in the sun improving your tan. If we got bored, we’d skip off to the beach. Because the cash was good, you made more than you could spend partying. That was key.

I worked on Wall Street for years in investment banking. NY has such a great vibe. I love the energy and pace there.

I’ve owned my own jewelry store which specialized in higher end one of a kind designs that we made. I had friends that mined all over the world. That was really cool because you got to see/buy gems in their highest quality. Using amazing stones that look “alive” makes all the difference in the world. People see things they can’t get at home, so they buy because it’s special.

Now, I absolutely love my job. In simple terms, I manage Sales Managers who in turn manage Sales staff. My job is basically a mix of sales, finance and negotiation for a large Fortune Global 500 company. It’s pretty high pressure with daily pace. I couldn’t have a “state like” job where you can’t move the needle.
Definitely the one I'm in now as a university professor. Being paid a decent salary to read, think, talk, and spend time with young people, with huge creative freedom and as close to lifetime job security as exists today.
I wish I could recommend this as a career path to young people, but the trend is to replace tenured professors with contract hires, and soon, the contract hires with chatbots :(

@ThePatientAnarchist There ain't a job today that companies are not trying to replace with machines.

Kind of makes you think - if they WERE to manage that, none of us would have jobs and therefore money to spend on their products and services, so companies would have no reason to even exist, let alone bring in more machines and AI.

Wow, looking back, I have never had a job I particularly liked. Some were more sufferable than others but I would not want to go back to any of them.

I held one position in a store a few years ago that would have been alright had it not been for the supervisor always complaining that we were not working hard enough.
What made it good is we were always moving, doing something meaningful, so the hours flew by.

I guess even at "good" positions, the bosses do not want morale getting too high. God forbid THAT happens. Like they want people suffering the whole time.

One day I took part in an advertisement. I had to drink something whilst talking to another woman. It was an ad about couple tourism. But it was only a couple of hours.
I was treated like a queen and was paid. Yeah it felt good.
But if I had to do that daily uhmmm that'd be a totally different story.

I think one of the coolest jobs most probably have been painting Christian paintings on the ceiling of a church.

Also photoshooting newborns as an assistant photographer.

I loved doing the painting art workshops too....:)

I worked for a major bank in the mortgage department and when we would work late or on the weekends they would buy us dinner. They also had great incentives to push past goals. I made a lot of money and was always fed well :)
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@SlippingAway That sounds like a decent job.

Book store. It was a small place, all my friends worked there too, and the owners gave us a lot of freedom in how we organized/set up the shop and the book displays.
RosaMarie · 46-50, F
@DearAmbellina2113 That's so cool.

The one I enjoyed most was as a counselor at a summer camp, but it paid very little. The best-paying and enjoyable job was as an engineering consultant for the space program, and I did that for 30 years.
WoWgirll · 36-40, F
@exexec so cool
GerOttman · 70-79, M
I like the ine I have now actually. It's not particularly difficult, the pay is good and I like the people I work with. The last job was pretty good too until the company was sold. it went downhill fast!
I worked in a bar for a few years in a tropical location. Had a different gf every few weeks and tons of fun. Beaches and boats and late night parties every day all year long.
But, after a few years, the fun was gone, got tired of drunks and moved on.

The job I have now, with the work schedule, allows me to take a one month vacation without an unpaid leave of absence.

When I was in the Air Force I spent two years at two different Cold War radar sites at remote locations in Alaska. Definitely not the kind of work you find in the want ads. I was young and up for just about anything.

The year I graduated from high school as a semi-pro gymnast, I was 17 years old and I scored a job at a local marina selling wooden motor boats that were otherwise destined to the woodpile.

I mean, they were junk and none would float without a portable bilge pump constantly pumping them out as fast as water was running in. But I got the job which didn't actually exist until I met the marina owner and bet him $500 that I could sell all his scrap boats within one month!

After selling the first one in just over an hour, he hired me for the summer and paid me a commission too! I met tons of guys who bought those old boats and I met a lot of young business women who owned their own motor boats and yachts. Very cool time in my life!
