Not at all! I've always found Japanese culture in general pretty humble and charming. As long as you respect it and stay true to your roots, all is welcome.
It’s a little strange to worship creation vs the creator in my opinion. But most people follow their heart and the heart is deceitful.

@userfawkes1105 Well my heart is not deceitful, and at least I don't need religion to tell me to be a good person, I just am one. Also you can practice the way of the kami alongside another religion, because it doesn't go against anything else you believe in.

Not silly at all if you feel it resonates with you

@Nightwings hm.. I understand...thank you

@Infamous607 There is more than one type of kami though. If you wanna read about it yourself, I can say it's pretty interesting! (=

You can create your own version of Shinto based on the original.

@BohoBabe When I was young I did create my own religion. I wrote a million diaries, and it just sort of came together throughout. It was similar to Shinto in some ways, but it was also extremely egotistical, centred around my own feelings and experiences lol. Makes sense considering I was a teenager. Nowadays I just want to show my appreciation and seek guidance in my surroundings. (=

Why would it be? People all over the world practice it.
