Is it silly to practice Shinto (the way of the kami) outside of Japan?

I am learning about it, because it strikes me as a type of nature religion which resonates with me. In theory, nature spirits would exist anywhere in the world, right? Anyone can make a home alter?

It’s a little strange to worship creation vs the creator in my opinion. But most people follow their heart and the heart is deceitful.

@userfawkes1105 Well my heart is not deceitful, and at least I don't need religion to tell me to be a good person, I just am one. Also you can practice the way of the kami alongside another religion, because it doesn't go against anything else you believe in.
