How do you wash your handkerchiefs?

I have handkerchiefs for every day of the week if I need to. Especially when I have the sniffles. But sometimes the boogers to wash out in the washing machine.

Ugh, my brother uses them and my mother used to wash them, soaking them first. I guess she still does when he visits. That stuff makes me sick, honestly. 😅 I haven't used one since I was a little kid because I refuse to wash it.

Can you believe it's in the UK governments plans to make linen handkerchiefs illegal to use in public from next year ?

The nonsense supporting this is the idea that cloth accumulates germs over time which are then spread any time you use one in public.

I notice there's no news on how or even IF you will be able to dispose of the paper equivalent in public places

Um, not even ever, that's just gross. I just have tissue boxes everywhere. I remember I had a runny nose as a kid once, and an old man offered me his handkerchief. That's just gross stuff

We don't have any like we do but we don't use. We carry tissue box everywhere we go.

@Donotfolowme Same with me. I have small packets of Kleenex in my purse, and always have them in the car and at home. Too many germs being spread using cloth handkerchiefs, especially when you have a very bad head cold. Considering how much money people spent on face masks during the Covid years a few boxes of tissues shouldn’t be breaking anyone.

Errr yeah thanks for that
I don’t put a snotty rag back into my pocket… 🤔

just do it on your shirt, then every week, just rinse it off,

I just buy Kleenex
